Disconnect the scanner from the computer. Uninstall driver software, shut down and restart the Comp. Reinstall the driver. (http://software.canon-europe.com/software/0036991.asp?model= ). connect the scanner and the system will report USB device plugged in. This should work.

Just saw your message. Did you load the driver for Win 7. You can download it from http://software.canon-europe.com/softwar...
Run scandisk or chkdsk on your computer and this will resolve harddisk related issues.

Hi Dermont,
If you haven't done it yet, you need to upgrade the firmware for your DR 6080 for the drivers to work.

If you have the new firmware installed on your scanner and the new driver installed on your laptop and it still isn't working...I would check your scanning software to see if there is a place to pick the scanner to use and make sure it is set to use DR-6080 with the proper driver designation.
Hope that does it for you!

Thanks Mohan. Tried this without success. I can successfully use the scanner (& cable) with an XP laptop but Win 7 (32-bit) just won't recognise the scanner.
