I have a whirlpool LGR8648pwo. Runs not heat and timer doesnt move. I found a 4 prong sensor in the back of the unit. 2 prongs have continuity and the other 2 dont. Is that bad.

If no heat at all i suspect this part HERE. This is the fuse. It kills power to the gas assembly if junk gets into the filter housing and cause an overheat condition. On electric models this same fuse kills the whole dryer. On gas models it just kills the gas. If that is good the next thing to check is the flame detection sensor mounted out side of the burner chamber. It's job is to power up the ignitor. If it is open no power can get to the ignitor. If it is good then the next thing to check is the ignitor. If the ignitor is good AND you are getting power from that control klixon you mentioned with the 4 wires on it AND you can get a little heat at first but then none at all them coils need to be replaced. We have a Whirpool AWZ 2303 that only blows cold air & the heater element looks OK - will it definatley need a new heter element or could it be something else?

Hi, If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heatingthe most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glowssometimes it is still not working properly. if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip.... If you have an electric dryer, you can have many differentthings that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat. check outthis electric no heat tip...

Im at a complete loss with my dryer. It runs but doesnt heat

Check the 230v very carefully You may be hooking it up even with new wire just like the old. You have to have across the line 230
not just 230. Sounds like you need to have an electrician to check
230 across the line at the wall.
Let me know.

Whirpool Mod WGD5300SQ0

How much water did you have in the basement? Back in June we had flooding in the area, and the my recommendation to everyone has been to replace any appliance that was under any water.

If the motor was under water, wires or the gas valves, these components will corroded and could cause you future safety concerns.

Just another damb heating problem

on gas dryers there are two coils on the burner assy. (small black cylinder with two wire haness) one opens initially to allow gas for ignition after that the flame sensor will allow the secondary to open for continuous flame i suggest replacing them both
