Question about RCA R52WH73 Projection Television

1 Answer

Dreaded 3d effect with extra trouble

I also have this same problem, but mine will also shutoff itself and kick back on displaying this same problem. It will work fine for awhile, then it will take fits by kicking on/off then displaying the 3d, color off. I can goto Convergence while the tv is fine, but once it starts doing this problem, that option is no longer there. Any help would be great..thx

Change the 2 convergence IC's then see what problem the machine has. The IC's are easy to spot. They are atteched to large finned heat sinks. The # on the parts will start with "STK-" then have numbers. These parts are available to the consumer at Luck!!

Sony SXRD (KDS-R50XBR1) fan question

Try to access the self-diagnosis screen. With the TV off, push in sucession, the "mute, then the number "5" button, and then the volume down button, and finally the pwer button. When the picture comes on, there will be a list of different circuits and to the right are numbers which represent how many times that particular circuit had a malfunction. Sometimes the red blinking LED code is itself in error, so this may help to clarify the root cause of your problem. Now, if the TV will not stay on long enough to perform the previous operation, you should consider replacing the large exhaust fan that is in front of the lamp assy. This has been the problem fan in these sets.
