Please try to remove the battery and use the ac power only it it will still do the same thing.
Please try to use an external monitor to see if it will display what is supposed to be showing on the screen of your laptop. If it works with the external monitor, please try to press on the hot key combination for switching the display. If everything did not work, it is a hardware problem. Please let me know it any of these helped. Thank you.

Laptop will not turn on.

If there are no apparent physical defects on the laptop, power cord, or battery and the laptop is not receiving any power even when plugged in then either your power cord or some circuitry in your laptop have become damaged. If your laptop is still under warranty sending it off to HP for repair will be your cheapest solution, otherwise you may try replacing the power adapter.

My laptop keeps powering off as soon as it starts up?

Are you getting juice out of the power cord? You could use a multimeter to see that you are getting the rated power out of the brick. Sometimes it is as simple as a plug not making good contact.Find a voltmeter and test if the adapter puts out any power at all. Make sure the RAM is properly seated, unplug every peripheral (even the cd/dvdrom drive), power it up on direct electric power. Check if you can get into the BIOS (F2, or F10, or delete, or some random key depending on the manufacturer, that you press when you power up).

Most laptops have a little light showing that they are recharging when plugged in properly. Is there a green LED light? Alternatively, I had an old laptop where the brick had a removable power cord and one of the prongs in the adapter where the power cord plugged into the brick would sometimes get pushed in and fail to make contact. Once I had that plugged in properly, I never unplugged it again.

If it fails when trying to boot windows, you could always try to download and burn an ubuntu live-cd and boot from the CD to see if the problem is really your software.

hi

in both the computers unplug the power cord and any external device attached to the system.

Press the power while the power cord if unplugged for 1 min exact, plug the power cord and see if this works. As there is extra power on the mother board which needs to be drained out

Have a Satellite L35-S2161 laptop does not power up. You press the power button and nothing happens. The laptop is plugged into the power adaptor.

when you plug in the power adaptor, does the light on the computer come on showing it has power before you press the button. If not , you need to take a voltmeter and check the DC voltage at the computer end of the adaptor while it is powered. If there is no power there, it is a problem with the cord. (this can be done yourself safely if you have access the a multimeter or you can run it down to your local radio shack and ask then to check it for you.
If the adaptor is ok , then id check where it plugs into the computer for looseness. cords get taken in & out of laptops a lot, and this area is VERY prone to getting damaged so to cause limmitted or no contact resulting in NO power.
once you've ruled out the cord , the computer power supply comes into suspect. This has airways through the back of your laptop (visable & hidden) that need to be clean (blown out) from time to time. If these get blocked with dirt, the laptop will run hot , shut down eventually and could cause damage to other hardware.
check these things and post again here, hopefully you dont have to go through everything before you find the issue.
Hope i was a help to you, let me know if i can assist you further.

I dont seem to be able to contect my new wireless g universal range extender/ access point

The Control Panel/Network Connections should show your wireless card. If you have a laptop, make sure the card is powered on. Most laptops use the "Fn" and "F2" button to control the card.Somee cards load a software program you can see in the taskbar by the clock.

Your router has settings for Channel, SSID, and Security. Be sure your card is set up to match them.

Once you get it connected, be sure to enable some kind of security to prevent unauthorized use of your internet connection.
Your router and card must have the same settings. Passwords (keys) are case sensitive.
