it sounds like it has slipped a gear in the lens.. you could try to manually push the lens in when it comes out and that might reset it but it also might break it.. best is to send it back to panasonic.. is a easy fix
You can download the manual from the manufacturer's web site at http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electronics/support/Cameras-Camcorders/Digital-Cameras/Lumix-Digital-Cameras/model.DMC-FZ35K
You can download a free PDF version of the manual in English or Spanish from the manufacturer's web site at http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electronics/support/Cameras-Camcorders/Digital-Cameras/Lumix-Digital-Cameras/model.DMC-FZ35K
Well, obviously the slide switch is no longer making contact inside the camera. There's nothing you can do...this requires a service tech...not necessarily a panasonic tech but a camera service center would do nicely and probably cheaper.
Go to the support section of the Panasonic website and enter Lumix FZ35. That's the same camera in the USA. If your camera comes in a color, you will need to add the letter of your color.
