Eos 450D
I have (I think) the exact same problem.
At first I thought that it was because I had just opened the package and with excitement not even waited to insert a memory card. But the problem persisted when I inserted a card AND
formatted the card.
The battery is more than enough.
EVERYTHING works including the auto focus and my two lenses as well as the
stabilizing.
But the display won't show the target, or anything at all when I set it to display.
- The menu works perfectly and shows
- Display "menu" works perfectly and shows.
- I am able to view the scene perfectly when it's on live view so the lcd is in perfect state.
- I am able to view the images I take photos of that are in the card.
- The flash works, auto flash works... EVERYTHING works... all the menus as I can tell.
- But I am not able to "display" the view on the lcd screen thus not able to benefit from the histograms or the so MANY more functions that were the reason I got this camera in the first place!
- I even switched the auto off for the lcd when getting near the view eye viewer
Mine is simply just a few hours old. But it was through mail order and I have to send it back for the guarantee... and with the weekend in line, I
truly fear the amount of time that is going to get
in between.
If I get feedback from here it would be great.
Else I'll post what ever answer the dealer claims was the problem.
I had so wanted to go out and start shooting! :(
