I live close to a very large shopping area. I went to the Best Buy store, went to the "geek" counter and asked the young man on duty to look at my I Pod after telling him it appeared to be locked up. Within 1 minute he had it working correctly again. In some way unknown to me I had gone to settings and had told the i pod to play songs a number of times. He cancelled that setting and it worked like new. I remember telling you folks that iit appeared to be locked up and would only repeat the individual songs once over and over. He saw the trouble in seconds. I have extended my service contract but I wonder why. Thanks for your efforts to help me. William R. Andrews

My iPod isn't working.

Okay. It seems like your iPod is stuck. Hold the home and power (screen lock) button together for around 10 seconds. Your iPod should reboot. :) If even after reboot, problem recurs repeatedly, it's a software problem. Restore it using iTunes or take it to you nearest Apple Service Center.

Check to see if your device memory is full. If this is the case, you may have to delete some files to create space for your songs. Are there movies that you have already seen still on the device? Delete them if you do not need them any more as a single movie file can sometimes take up enough space for 100 songs.
A way to check the memory is to click on your Ipod name in itunes and it will take you to the device information.
Hope this is helpful.
