my pebl phone screen is blank but phone turns on

You can try replacing the lcd but if when you power up the phone and only the keypad lights up then it is the flexcable that needs replacing

YRAG - take the phone and have the flexcable replaced as well as fully service

psasho - no, replaced the battery as well as replacing the lcd

UOLACE - what that person said is ****.....if the keypad is dead then it can easily be replaced so take it to a better tech shop.

hartman - you should have it reflash to correct this issue

GUEST - try another battery and if that does not work then have the phone's firmware reflash

I had the exact same problem. Take the phone apart and wipe down he keypad with an alcohol soaked (very mild) q-tip. Let it dry and re-assemble the phone. It all works now!

There are 4 tiny screws under the back cover, unscrew all 4 (home depot carries the little star attachment in most tool sets). Then lift the blue cover off the keypad, the board in the middle stays attached to the headset. There is a little black rubber piece by the USB port keep an eye on it. Also do not pull the board away from the headset, you'll break a tiny silver ribbon.

To re-assemble just tuck the board back in the blue case, tighten the top screws half way. Flip over and tuck the side button connections in, then slip the face plate in top first and press down. Tighten remaining screws and you're done.

reflash the phone to correct this issue

your flex cable is either bad or going bad...you need to have it replaced at a qualified phone repair shop.or your screen might be going...my first guess would be the flex cable

Same thing happened to me. Mine was covered under the 1 year warranty and was replaced.

get a TORX 6 screwdriver

take it apart
Google for V220 take apart/ disassembly

WIggle the tiny flex cable connector
near the hinge.. still no luck ????

Buy another V220 on ebay

gently take the phone apart and sub in the whole
screen shell and front of keypad.

DO NOT TRY TO remove the screen from the body section..
you will destroy to the teeny tiny flex cable.
