Possible that the loading is not completing and so does not go into head loading. If the head loads and does not run then it is possible that the optical unit is faulty.
Also it is possible that if there is no response to after loading of disc the fault can be failure in the controller processor board or the loading drive. Try and clean the optical unit and see if there is any result.

SOURCE: Sony RDR-VX525 VCR / DVD

Hello
It has a switched mode power supply [SMPS] regulator inside it. You have located the fuse in itself. As far as fuse is OK, either switching device or mains rectifier diodes and load ressistor should be checked. There is no direct short circuit inside that board, if so fuse will fire up. It is very difficult to an unexperienced person, who is not have sound knoledge in digital elctronics; to rectify this problem. If you are experiecied, go forward. If not, it will be best to replace the power control board. It is available on most of the electronic component spare part shops at your town. There is a number printed on its printed circuit board and it should be noted. The number must be the exact one, if you replace the board. Take out the board from the set, and keep it with you as a sample, when you go to buy a new one. If you are not confidence in this work, never do nothing, and get it repaired by any experienced service personal. OK.

Dvd's won't come out of player

Try unplugging the dvd player, wait a few moments then plug it back in and hit the eject button, sometimes that works.

What do + and _ signs mean on blank dvds

- RecordNow! can record only to the same disc type
it records from. For example, you can record a
DVD only to a DVD+R or DVD+RW disc, and you
can record a CD only to a CD-R or a CD-RW disc.
you were using DVD-R, so it won't work.

hope this helps

My Samsung DVD/VHS recorder the DVD won't close after playing DVD

Never force it, just use the remote.
If it won't stay in, unplug the unit and wait a while.
I think we get viruses from the TV signal which might be temporary (hopefully).
