Question about Printers & Copiers
Hi, we had a Konica 7040 donated. the copier tech told me he couldn't get an IP address on something so old, and if he could the network card would cost almost a thousand dollars. Is this true, and is there another way to print from computers to the Konica?
Not sure if you are saying it has a NIC card or you would like to put one in.
If it does not have one, yes it's expensive and most likely they did not make one for that model.
If it has one
depends on the connections.
IP address is for a network, don't know the setting you are in,but, if there is another connection ( Parallel) this is the big connector that is used in the old machines and computers (before USB) and is connected directly to the PC. so it's considered Local printer and only that person can print, would be an alternative.
Unless you have a wireless router, and put the printer into a shared File
