Hitachi Quick Release Drill problem

I have a Hitachi quick release drill (hex head) model WH14DAF2 and it won't release the drill bit - someone (me) put a regular double-sided screwdriver bit in it (the regular screwdriver side is in the quick release) and now it won't release it. Are there any known solutions for unjamming a quick release impact driver?

Problem solved - used vice grips and hammer to remove. Didn't damage the drill and I won't use any other type of drill bit other than the hex head - even if it does fit in and sometimes releases.

Put a box end wrench 7/16 or a 3/8 over the bit. put the bit in a vise. Lightly tap the wrench with a hammer while holding the relase sleeve back. usually need 2 people. 1 to hold the drill and the sleeve and 1 to hold the wrench and hammer. try a little tranny fluid or wd40 in the chuck. don't use the painted bits. use onle the chrome ones

I am trying to remove keyless chuck from Hitachi cordless drill DS 18DVB. I am insertiung flat head screw driver into chuck, turning clockwisw but getting no bite

the screw at the base of the fully opened chuck is a left hand thread
it may be a slot but normally they are philips head or hex head undo that screw by turning as if doing it up
once it is out , hold the shaft and by placing something across the now partially open jaws a quick hit on that object with a hammer will loosen the chuck off the shaft you can place a allen key in the jaws and close them up and use that as an object to hit

I have a Hitachi WH 18 DFL cordless impact driver, which I love. I was doing a little bit of heavy drilling, and now the drill bit is stuck. The sleeve extends as if to release the bit, but the bit do

My guess is that the bit twisted a little in the bit holder so the steel ball is bound. If the collar moves you could try a slide puller on the bit and see if you can impact it out with the slide puller. Or you could take the bit holder apart. There is a retaining ring that holds it all together right on top. Pull that off and a washer, spring and the collar will come off. Becarefull to watch for the steel balls on the spindle. They WILL fall out! Now hopefully the bit will come out. If not it may need to be twisted in the oposite direction that it got stuck when you were using it to break it free. Hope that helps and good luck!

It just pulls out if its a screwdriver and if it has a quick release chuck then pull chuck back towards drill body and pull bit out.

Can't get broken hex bit out

what you need to do is remove the quick release mechanism. there is a retaining ring DO NOT STRETCH then a small flat washer and spring lift the collar and there are usually 2 small steel balls. then using a magnet you should be able to remove bit. this works only if the shank on the bit is not twisted.

Ryobi impact drill compatibility with normal drill bits

Round bits are not compatible with the Ryobi impact drivers. You need the hex shank "quick connect" bits and accessories. There is an adapter available. it is basically a regular style of keyless drill chuck with the quick connect hex shank that should fit right in to your Impact.

How do you change the drill bit for a Ryobi?

My husband explained this, via phone ..... made it simple....... grab the silver ring area beneath the black top area where the drill bit is located. Hold the silver area firmly, while you twist the black top. You will see the release, then remove drill bit. Laymen's terms, but it worked!!

Keyless Chick will not Release - Hitachi DS18DMR

It's best not to use the drill power and your hand to try and release. Or tighten for that matter.

Set the drill down, and try using both hands on the clutch.

If that don't work, try using vise-grips or channel locks.

If that don't work, whip out of the WD-40 and let soak and then try again.

I have a drill bit stuck in my bosch 10.8 cordless litheon- it is

without having the exact model number for this tool I have in the past removed the outer collar on the quick release holder. After that you take out the small steel ball and the bit would come out but If you can provide the model I will look at it and see and call a friend that is a Bosch Authorized Service and see what they do in this case.

How to Remove Bit from Dewalt Quick Connect Adapter DW0521

Hold the chuck by its sleeve, put the drill in reverse (make sure it's set at high torque if you used it in a drill/driver) and go full speed. That should release the bit.
