Does it make the sound when its spinning or just when you turn the drum?

The reason I ask, is just tonight my Bosch 3200 was making a loud almost metal screeching sound during spin. When I ran downstairs to shut it off, I can see water dripping out from the bottom. I took that little round cover off to look inside, and its loaded with water. About a week ago I did notice the same screeching sound when it went into spin, but it stopped after a few seconds. When I started it back up tonight it made the sound for maybe 5 seconds and stopped.

My machine will be a year old Dec. 18. And I never understood this washer. It will take forever to balance a load, and when it does, best way of describing it would be a self destructive spin. Banging on the sides and front. You would think with all the time it takes to balance it would balance a load better than it does.

This wouldn't be a bearing problem would it? I know I have neglected calling service, but after tonight I will.

Any ideas what this may be?
