Question about HP PSC 2210 All-In-One InkJet Printer

HP 2410 Photosmart All in One Printer

Every time I try to turn off power and then power up, the printer makes this loud constant clicking noise for around 2 minutes. It never prints and once the clicking is done the green light flashes with the hour glass on screen. It seems to be stuck in a function. I have tried turning power off many times and this same thing happens everytime I power back up.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Mark

Resetting the printer, turning off computer, rebooting computer does not work. When the printer turns on there is a loud clicking noise and it does that for around 2 minutes. Then it just sits there with the hourglass going on the display screen and the ON light flashing.

I know you're not going to believe this, but here's your fix:

Hold the cancel button down before you turn on the printer on and hold it down through the start up process. This is a know HP 2410 bug, and this fix *does* work.

However, the problem may come back. Just "rinse and repeat" to get it back working again :)

The clicking sound is coming most likely from the printhead carriage, if you open the printer so you can see the cartridges, is the carriage stuck? trying to move to a direction and makeing the sound?

    Perform a partial reset

A partial reset will return user settings to factory defaults. On some models, language and country/region settings are also reset. Perform a partial reset of the product by following the instructions below.

    1. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

    2. Unplug the power cord from the all-in-one.

    3. Press and hold # and 3 while plugging in the power cord.

    4. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

    5. Plug the power cord to the back of the all-in-one.

    6. When reset displays, release both buttons.

Turn it off & check for any obstructions inside.

disconnect it from the computer & turn it back on, if it still generates those loud clicking noises which is not normal, the printer may need servicing.

My HP 2410 Photosmart printer is making a clicking nose on start up. In the past I was instructed to unplug it and everything attached to it, including the computer, for 15-30 minutes and it would reset...

Uninstall the printer completely starting from the software.

Go to Start Menu, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, select the HP Photosmart software and remove it.

Then, go to Start Menu, Control Panel, Device Manager (usually under Administrative Tools/Computer Management).

Select under "Printers", the HP Photosmart 2410 All-in-One InkJet Printer and remove it.

Restart your computer and follow the instructions from your HP manual to setup your printer again.

Loud clicking noise when turn on printer

I would check wherever possible for foreign objects in the printer. Failing that, a partial reset is available for your PSC 2410:

A partial reset can be done by:

1) Unplugging the power cord (you are already there!)
2) Press and hold the (#) key and (3) key while plugging the unit back in

Why is my hp psc 2410 photosmart all-in-one make a clicking noise, when I turn it on? It seems to be stuck in a "cycle". Like the printing carriage (if that's what you call it) is hooked-up.

See if you can press the power button to turn it off, leave it for 5 minutes then turn it on again, if the clicking persists again try 1 more time, turn off, leave for 5 mins then turn back on this time there should be no clicking noise and you should be able to send a print job to the queue and it should print.
If this doesnt work then goto the hp software and purge.

Printer won't print, makes clicking noise, on/off light flashing

This method should put you on a fresh footing.

1. Go to start button when programs appears see if you can find your printer in the list, see if it has an uninstall program.
2. If not: Go to start click on printers and faxes.
3. Delete the printer giving you a tough time.
4. Reinstall using your installation CD.
That should work.

This problem always hits after a power interruption. On another site I read the solution is to open the back and roll or move the paper wheels back and forth a few times. This worked for me.
