I'd like to help, but a little more info is needed.

1) What is the make and model of the set?
2) What is the problem that makes you think you need an entire power supply?
3) can you describ the problem in detail including any blinking indicators that occur when you see the problem?

Thanks,
Dan

You will most likely need a tech to repair the power supply.

You could contact a BIG name repair group, But if you can find a guy like me,

you could get it repaired for the less than $10 costing part it needs and a very fair
labor charge. Us unemployed guys give good deals.

I would do it if you were close.
Toshiba is a notoriously good fix.
Very worth it.
You need a tech.

Hi,
DM module is not booting up because there are some capacitors in its power supply that are defective in your tv .There are four capacitors that go bad inside your tv in DM module . You need to replace those 4 capacitors . It will cost you around $40 . If you're not a tech, and you'll most likely need to call technician to repair your tv . Hope this helps .

STANDBY CONT FLASHES

If your unit is a Mitsubishi then the below information should result in the repair of your unit.
If your unit is not a Mitsubishi then we need to know the make and model of your unit to further help.

Your particular bigscreen has a digital module located on the left rear of the unit, and is mounted vertically. This module can be removed and the shielding taken off. On the component side of the DM module is a small power supply circuit board which needs to have all five electrolytic filters replaced. The filters are typically 1000 micro farad at 25 volts and are easily obtained by you local electronics supplier or repair shop.

The reason your unit does not stop blinking is due to these out of tolerance electrolytic filters. They became out of tolerance when the unit was left unplugged. Once the filters are replaced, and the module re-installed, the green blinking light will extinguish after about one minute, at which point the unit will turn on.

TV will not turn on. Clicking noise heard from inside.

These sets use what is called a "switch mode" power supply. In order for them to work there is a capacitor that "kick" starts the process. If that cap goes bad, the power supply will not start up. Also, there are other caps inside that maintain the oscillation required for the power supply to work. There are 2 options for you here.

1) Replace the entire power supply module.
2) Repair the existing one.

Sicne these types of power supplies are not the easies to diagnose or repair, I would suggest that you replace the power supply module. That should resolve the problem.

Please note that there are other causes of the reported problem, but hte power module becoming defective is the most common.

No power with remote or manual power switch

Your convergence module is probably bad. It is a plug in module, so labor would be lower if the convergence settings are still good. The bill would be about $300.00 If not, the labor for convergence would add to the bill. If the whole job needed full convergence the cost would be about $500 to $600. Hope this helps, Lee http://www.CrazyComputers.com

forwarded from someone named dillin Your TV has a short in the power supply, and or the sweep drive, sweep power supply,or the convergence module on this set will also kill the set from time to time. If you have a service manual, and a multimeter there with you and you know how to troubleshoot solidstate printed circuit board, the first thing to do would be to get a servoice manual, located the convergence module, disconnect all the plugs to the module. Next pull off all trhee picture tube sockets off the picture tubes and lay them aside, making sure they do not touch anything.. Plug in the set. If it comes on with sound, you most likley have a bad convergence module. Here are the spects and part numbers. Part Number: BP95-00415B, Description: ASSY SUB PCB-CG MOD, Stock Availability: Item usually ships in 5 business days, Price: $87.02. you get it here at http://www.samsungparts.com/,enter your model number If the set does not come on then your going to need to trouble shoot the sweep and main power supply's. I have had in this model the Hi voltage block cause this set to go bad once . If you have no electronic troubleshooting skills, Play it safe and call in a tech to assist you in this repair. Good Luck, and let know how you made out.
