The blue screen you are referring to usual appears when there is a software/hardware conflict.

If you have recently added any hardware to your computer , try removing it and rebooting the computer..if it was software you have recently installed , try booting the computer in "Safe Mode" ( tap the F8 key when the computer is first booting) and uninstall the program.......

If that does not work , we would need to do some more troubleshooting. First we would need the exact error code from the blue screen. That will help us narrow down exactly where the issue is coming from. In the picture below notice the red box's , the code in those box's is the code we need from yours.

Acer computer keeps crashing

Best thing to try before anything is to run your computer in safe mode.
Make sure the computer is off and not in sleep or in hibernate.
Power the computer on and click the F8 key till you see below image.
Image is from a Windows 7 - Most versions of windows will be the same Or similar. Screen defaults to 640 X 480 in safe-mode!

Choose safe mode with networking. If while running your computer in safe mode and it never blue screens - Then chances are, you have a software, driver or virus issue - Most cases. If your computer continues to crash in safe mode. Your system most likely has a hardware issue. Common: Computer Memory and/or hard drive.

Now my computer won't shut down... windows closes then goes to a blue screen and reboots. The only way I can shut it down is to hold the start button until its off??

You might have some viruses and malware.

Start your PC and press F8 several times until the boot menu comes up. Then select "Safe Mode with Networking". Now get some or ALL of the FREE programs below.

Download, Install and Run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware:

When Installing choose the non-pro version.

Download, Unzip, Install and Run TDSSKiller:

Download, Install and Run Super Anti-Spyware:

If you have an outdated Anti-virus program then Download, Install and Run Avira Anti-Virus:
http://majorgeeks.com/Avira_AntiVir_Personal_-_FREE_Antivirus_d955.html
Make sure to select ALL of the "threat categories" when you install or configure Avira.

You should be in pretty good shape if you run and install all of these programs.

New Graphic card gives me a blue screen (or shuts pc down) when I go to play a game after 5 minutes or so and then recovers to reboot. Hello, I have a 2.8 gb CPU/1.5 gb mem/IBM ThinkCentre a50p...

Try reinstalling the drivers from AMD. If that doesn't help the problem, use a program like GPU-Z to monitor the temperature of the graphics card. If a graphics card overheats, it will shut the computer down giving a blue screen.
If it ends up it is overheating, try taking the side of the computer while you're playing a game or installing another fan.

HP had blue screen and said it would shut down. Problem is that it does turn off, so that it can be re-booted. Have tried to shut off PC, but continues to come on and not start.

Hold the power button in for 10 to 15 seconds for hard shut down if that doesn't work unplug power for about 5 minutes then plug power back in and see what happens

My computer won't reboot after trying to reboot it is stuck in a blue screen how do I get it to get out of the blue screen

You need to launch the Last know good configuration to get this fixed.

Follow the steps below,

Step 1: Shut down your PC completely.
Step 2: Trun on the Power button.
Step 3: As soon as you turn it on start hitting the F8 key on your keyboard until you get to a black screen called "Windows Advanced option". (If you don't get to that that screen but you end up reaching the blue screen than that means you have delayed in hitting the F8 key. start again from step 1.)
Step 4: As soon as you reach "Windows Advanced option" use your down arrow keys to choose an option called "Last know good configuration".
Step 5: Select that and HIT ENTER.
Step 6: you PC will boot to the windows. If this fails then you need to perform repair install using the Operating system CD.

We apologize for the inconvenience, but Windows did not start successfully. A recent hardware or software change might have caused this. If your computer stopped responding, restarted unexpectedly, or...

did you recently install a new hardware ?
did you recently install a new software?
if you answered yes to any of these questions above you need remove it.
therefore if you installed a new hardware safely shut down and remove cables and remove hardware.( if it is hardware the hardware is not compatible with windows)
if it a software boot in safe mood then uninstall software. ( to boot in safe mood, press F8 while computer in turned on )

Computer keeps crashing on startup

Hi,
That blue screen you see is the ever dreaded Blue Screen Of Death or BSOD for short. Most of the time it's a hardware issue. Could be a hard drive or memory failing, or it's a cpu or motherboard issue. Check processor to see temperature in bios.

Unplug all devices...cd rom...graphics cards, etc. Just have memory and hard drive connected. See what happens. If BSOD still, then put memory in another slot, just use one stick, or try a new stick See if you can try another hard drive to narrow it down to a HD or cpu or mb issue.

Good luck,
Hank

Ihave blue screen after my laptop just shut down

If you didn't get to log in try this.Reboot, tap the F8 key until you get to the advanced start up screen. Click on last known good configuration.
If you logged in it will not work so try to boot in safe mode. (again tap the F8 key on reboot)
The blue screen is a configuration error. Either hardware or software.
Hardware could be bad, (memory, hard drive).
Software could be any thing, (an update, new install).
If you just did a windows update and the blue screen happened I would boot to safe mode and uninstall the update.
Control panel, add/remove programs.
You might need to check the box in the top right to show updates.
Find the latest update and click remove.

Hi PC;
try booting up in safe mode then shutdown from there, see if you still hang on the blank blue screen.

to go to safe mode, tap F8 when your pc is booting up.
