I just solved the problem after many attempts!
It works for me, and i hope it works for you too~First install media player 10!
When I plug in my YP-U3 player, the computer says it needs to search for a driver, then i let it search it online. But it normally
won't search the driver on the internet. Then, it will give a prompt to ask if you want to find a solution or search the driver from
the PC. Choose the second option, searching from the PC. Then change the directory to C: (Which is the most crucial part).
After a while, the driver should be found and a warning message will appear. Forget about the warning, choose install the
hardware anyway, player should be recognized by then.
(I have had windows media player 11(10 also works), direct X 9...etc. before installing the driver)
Go to
1. Device Manager
2. Portable Devices
3. Samsung YP-U3 (mouse click Update driver)
4. at this time only ... install from a list of specific....
5. Dont search. I will ....
6. Choose Ports (COM & LPT )
And basicly thats it ;) have a nice day people

Hi , i have the yp-u3 , but i lost the disc , do you guys know where i can download any software to just upload my song ?
If you tried everything, and your samsung YP-U3 still disconected, try to rewrite Windows XP. It helped me ;)

That address is just a manual. No driver found. Even no driver exist I think.

i don't have a cd for installation
I had the cd but its crashed:P
I bought the player 10 months back. It was working fine till recently. But suddenly it has started giving the following message on the display.
Log Val = 0x10008018
Even if i connect the device to the system, its not detectable.I am unable to use the device now. I want to know what conditions will trigger the device to go to this state. Is this the hardware related issue or the software related. Please let me know the solution for this problem! I can provide more details incase you need!!

Egads you've just saved me from alot of hair pulling and whatnot. As soon as I installed Windows Media Player 11, my laptop recognised my YP-U3. Great, thank you!
