I am trying to conect a USB Cannon printer and my system will not recognise the printer is connected - how do I fix this please.

You need to install the software for the printer before you plug it in to the computer. If you dont have the disk for the printer you can download the software from Canon support at this website http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support

Hope this answers all your questions

I have some prob with my fax reciving in my computer it is not reciving fax its tune eneguge. so plz tell me how to re connect my fax with computer

Are you sure you have a good phone line connected? If so does it still have a dial tone? If so it's software issue. Youu'll need to contact the peaple for that software.

Please leave comment and review.

I would like faxing instructions for the Packard Bell computer.

It's a computer, there are no FAX instructions. If you have a modem in there, you can run FAX software and the problem is reduced to understanding the FAX software. Check out softpedia.com and Cnet for some examples of free FAX software....

Hi there. I have just taken over this office and am not sure what is connected and what is not. I am trying to send a fax through my computer and the "waiting for printer to respond:Canon MP830...

you need to give more details on how you're trying to send the fax.
keep in mind you don't actually need a printer to send the fax if you're using your computer to send the fax.. that's the reason you need to be more precise when discribing your problem.

in general you need to be familiar with how things are connected.

if your printer is a fax machine too the minimum you need is to have your printer/fax connected to a line (to the telephone wall jack) and to be powered up.

if your printer is only a printer and you're using your computer to send the fax you need to have your modem (the connector in the back of your computer that looks like a telephone line but says not telephone but 'line' connected to the phone line on the wall) connected and have software that allows you send faxes via your computer. (windows xp has that software so you need to make sure is installed (start>control panel>add remove programs>add/remove windows components>fax services should be installed) and if the software is installed you should be able to go to start>accessories>communications>fax>fax console

confirm what is your set up and give more details.

My printer won't work. It copies things but won't print anything on my computer. I will be needing it for school soon. It's a lexmark and i have a window xp. I don't have a installtion cd. I don't know...

if you know the model of your printer it might be easier if you can download the software to the internet for you to be able to install it to your computer and have it working. please check if its currently installed , by clicking start, then printer and faxes tab, then see if its there, if its not there then you need to install the downloaded software available at lexmark site. if its there then check the connection at the back of your computer, if its properly inserted and plug to the your pc.

I would like to use my epson stylus cx7800 to receive and send fax's. Can this be done. Please explain and instruct. Thanks. lstrat@telusplanet.net

If you are running Windows, and have a modem, you can use the Windows Fax Services which are built in.

You may not have it installed, as it's an optional component. Go to Control Pane/Add Remove programs. Select Windows Components on the left hand side. If Fax services is not checked, do so, and press OK. You may need your original Windows install CD to complete the task.

If you still need help with this, please respond to this message. If I have solved your problem, I would appreciate you rating this as "solved".

Good Luck
