Question about Heating & Cooling
A new digital thermostat was installed two years ago by a pro. Worked fine until I tried to fire up the furnace for a "test run". I noticed there was no reading (Ambient temp)on the face of the stat? No on/off switch available on stat (dial). Checked the switch on furnace and reset breakers, still no reading. Took face off stat and its hardwired so no batteries to replace.
This is a gas furnace only, no a/c.
What is going on??
You must check for voltage at the stat. If voltage present with no display the stat is bad. No voltage, you gotta find out where it stops.

SOURCE: Code 32 when wind blows
Hi and welcome to Fixya. I believe that the wind is affecting the draft. What I would recommend is to install a cap on the flue that is similar to a weather vane in that it rotates to block the wind from creating a downdraft in the flue. Some times depending on the direction and strength of the wind it will come up over the roof peak and then down the flue. A regular fixed cap may work too. You should be able to purchase one at your local hardware store. Please let me know if this was helpful. Good luck.
