Question about Hotpoint WMA48 Front Load Washer
I have removed the top, have removed the bottom back plate, can see the motor but have no idea where the brushes are,do I own the most difficult washing machine to replace the brushes?
Easiest way is to remove the motor - just held in by simple bolts. disconnect the electrical plug and socket wiring to the motor of course.

The brushes (connected to the motor obviously) are located underneath the drum. The easiest way to get at them is to secure the drum with the fixing bolts, tip the machine sideways and remove the brushes through the inspection hole underneath. The brushes are held in with 2 small phillips head screws each and have an electrical connector that requires you to press a locking tang as you pull it off. There are 3 different types of brush for the WMA48 washing machine, so you will have to remove them and take them with you to ensure you buy the correct replacements.
It is easier to remove / refit the brushes with the motor on the table in front of you, but is the best way to do it without having to remove the motor.
