After clicking f2 and entering setup, what is the process of disabling the CMOS. After doing that, how do you save and exit and return to the operating system?

Were you locked out of windows? Clearing the CMOS will not fix that, it will only set your motherboard to standard factory settings. It is possible that in clearing the CMOS you have lost settings that are required to have the system start and until you reset those you may not be able to exit the bios.

How do i reset my lenovo desktop to factory setting

If your Lenovo desktop is pre-installed with Windows operational system, press one-key reset key when your laptop is power off. Or press Shift + B to come back to factory setting instantly when Lenovo desktop is open.

Or press F2 when your Lenovo desktop is powering on. Few seconds later, a dialog pops up with several options, one-key reset and reset factory setting. Follow the operation wizard to reset factory setting is OK.

Check the router settings, if the router is set to only use 802.11N wireless it won't pick up a computer that is using 802.11G or 802.11B wireless.

Good luck

It sounds like you have neglected to have the battery changed on time, and now you have probably lost everything from the machine. It will need to go to a programmer to have everything programmed back in as it will usually need system programming as well as all the user data replaced. Find a dealer in your area.

Rebbot to factory settings

Hi bgreenejr,

Are you referring to the BIOS or OS?

If you’re referring to the BIOS settings, you can do this by accessing it and selecting "set to factory default" from the menu. The most common way to access it is by pressing the DEL button upon boot up; there are however, a lot of branded PC and laptops may use a different button like F2 or F12, etc; if you’re BIOS is locked, of course you’ll need the password to log-in.

Another and common method of resetting it to factory default is by shorting the CMOS reset jumper located in your motherboard, usually it’s the closest jumper to the battery or the CMOS chip. This does not require any password, actually this is the method used if you forget your BIOS password. I would suggest that you consult your motherboard or computer’s documentation on how to locate the CMOS reset jumper on it.

If you are referring you your operating system, the only sure way to reset it to default settings is if you do a clean install, that means re-formatting your pc and re-doing everything again, kinda messy, unless you can do a system restore that would revert it back to the original date and time when you first install the system, . Hope this helps

Cheers and best regards,

Aspire 3000 the ac power is not connecting with notebook. Before the yellow light went out it came on then went off when i wriggled the connecting plug. Now their is no yellow light and the battery is flat...

anaturopath,
don't worry your data will not lost till your HDD is ok and you don't delete and/or format your HDD.
you should try:
  • Remove battery and plug ac adopter power on then try to boot. In some cases if battery is faulty you can on your lap direct from ac adopter. If its get on then change your battery it might be faulty.
Otherwise you should take a tour to your service centre.

Good Luck
