Call the manufacturer of the car or check your manual for the car....usually there is a separate book for the anti theft radio.

My battery died so my radio is locked up. i do not have lock code for it. i have another radio what is the best way to remove factory radio

You can get the code for the radio at your local dealer. You will need your VIN#. It may cost a little but is worth having the right code. If you are dead set on installing another radio, visit www.sound-repair.com for instructions. It will cost a little but you will have them if you decide to change the radio again. If they don't have it, try www.crutchfield.com and ask for them. Hope this helps.

Trying to remove a kenwood car stereo from a 91 vw golf

If you didn't purchase the radio new, then you probably don't have the pull tabs. New radios come with pull tabs. Basically they are designed to fit into both sides of the radio, just where the locks that keep the radio in the dash are. The old school method is the find the thinnest knives you can, one for each side. Remove the trim ring. Slide the knives (one on each side) inbetween the stereo and the metal mounting sleeve. You will need to keep both in place until your radio is about 1/2 way out. CAUTION, don't pushe the knives in too far, The locks are about 1 inch - 2 inches in.

Hope this helps

My battery died in when I installed a new battery my radio locked its a kenwood kvt-514 what do i do to reset it

When the battery connection is interuppted the radio will reset and so will require the codes to be entered to switch on. you need to check with the dealership to check on the database for the codes , if not please check the link below:

The battery died in my 2000 suburban , the radio is now locked and i can not find the manual , how can i find the code ??

The radio SERIAL NUMBER is required for a code
First remove the radio from the dashboard.
Then post the radio make+model plus all the letters+numbers on any labels, barcodes or stamped in the metal casing.
This information can then be used to see if a code can be calculated

I have a 1998 Chevy Blazer and I need the Delco Audio System Radio Code for it. I had to replace the battery and now my radio won't work.

For Security reasons (to deter car radio thieves) then please email " restoredclassic@aol.com " for details of how to restore your radio from the LOCK situation.

Hope helps.

My radio is in lock out mode and will not operate because I entered the wrong code in before finding the correct code in the owner's manual

Try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and then enter the correct code. This should clear the locked mode.
Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks.

Look all i want is to get my radio going i had a compressor change battery was remove wat do i have to do to get this imfo.

Hi and thank you for using fixya:
I would like to address that removing your battery and connecting back on will not invalidate or make your radio go out of service. Removing your battery does resets your radio to factory settings but it should be working fine. Check for any cables or fuses that are gone.
Good luck

My cd/radio display is not working

First thing to check would be your battery is not on its way out. Sometimes when battery is dying and voltage drops below normal operating voltage this can cause radio, alarms etc. to stop operating correctly. Or the battery leads may be loose or poor electrical connection.
