I have a pioneer dxt-x4869bt sterio do I need a certain hook up subwoofers

Unless your Pioneer has a dedicated subwoofer output or output for bass speakers the signal for subwoofers will need to be generated by either a passive or an active crossover from the regular speaker outputs and then the resulting output will probably need boosting by an additional amplifier if a passive subwoofer is to be used. An active subwoofer might not require the additional amplification.

I just purchased a 12"

Did you purchase your subwoofer from a retail location or online? If it was local, I would take it back. It sounds like a blown subwoofer. Pull the subwoofer out and smell it. If there is a burned smell, the coil was blown. This would also explain why the cone was not moving, just vibrating. Now the other possibility is the amplifier. Check the fuses and check where you grounded the amp. If you can use a multimeter, use it to check your ground. If it does happen to be a blown subwoofer, you should be able to exchange it (from retail), online takes more time but can be done. However, if you purchased from an individual and the equipment is used, there isn't a whole lot to help with. Good Luck.

I have a pair of pioneer ts A-6987 connected through an amplifier and pioneer cd player..i noticed today that the left speaker's cone woofer stopped working whereas the its producing voice but if very low...

double check the ratings on the speakers and amp. speakers that size don't usually require an amp. compare the wattage and resistance numbers, if you haven't fried an amp, you may have blown a speaker. another possibility is a short in the channel. check wiring connections.

Is my 1200 pioneer amp a good match for my 1200 watt pioneer sub

this is too close, your speaker wattage is alway's higher than your amplifier's wattage alway's to be safe because the hard pounding will make the speaker work harder, and this will cause your speaker burn out easily, though you can adjust your amplifier anyway's

Subwoofers don't work all the time.

I've had similar problems in the past with speakers. The most likely culprits are 1) over excursion of the subwoofer. If you have the bass boost or gains set too high, the speaker recieves a distorted signal, the amplifier would likley read this as an open vioce coil and engage protection circuitry. 2) a voice coil on the verge of collapse(same result as above) 3) your amplifier is running at too low an impedence(some can only bridge into a 4 ohm load) and is over heating. You may be pushing the amp beyond its ability, and it is over heating. or. 5) the amplifier has faulty internal circuitry(least likely but I had a brand new amp with a dozen cold solder joints on the printed circuit board) and is cutting out as a result of inadequate electrical transfer.

Which terminals to use

if your amplifier is 2 ohm mono stable - you can wire them in parallel.
Put a piece of wire from one + terminal to the other + terminal on the subwoofer.
Then do the same to the -.
Now pick one pair of teminals from the subwoofer and wire it to the amplifier. (one set of subwoofer terminals will have 2 wires each).
If you reply with your amplifier make/model, I can tell you the best usage.

I need instructions connecting my car subwoofers

Bridging your amplifier @ 4 ohm will yield the most power.... with the subwoofers you have.
You must wire them in Parallel.
Positive on both subwoofers to + on amplifier.
Negative on both subwoofers to - on amplifier.
The lowest impedence possible with 8 ohm woofers is 4 ohms.

How do i hook it up

On the Sub you have 4 connectors, 2 for each voice coil... Run a jumper wire from One side of the sub to the other. Positive to negative so that now you have one set of connectors free. Doing this will make the sub able to handle more cause you're using both voice coils. Thats how i've always hooked mine up when i have duel voice coil and they always last a long time. If you're gonna bridge the amp, make sure its turned down for about 5 or 6 hours to let the sub break in.
