Spybot Search and Destroy (free+realtime), Symantec Antivrus (not Norton!), Sygate Firewall (free)
If you have alot of infections (really slow operations) recommend reinstalling o/s BUT first scan the bios with one or two different free scanners, if this is infected reinstalling o/s will be insuffcient to rid the bios memory of infections and you will be back to square one.

If your computer does not have any anti-virus software, or you do not know how to use the anti-virus software that came with your computer, you can get anti-virus software from the University of Maryland. This software is available to University of Maryland College Park students, faculty, and staff for free if you download the software or get the Getting Connected CD from the OIT HelpDesk. There are web pages on-line that will instruct you how to download, install, and update the software so that the software can be kept up-to-date very easily.

How dose virus harm proccessor ?

Hello and Welcome to FixYa!
Hmm, very nice question, a straight layman answer will be NO, virus can't directly hard the hardware. Let me elaborate a bit, Virus cannot burn up Processor. Hardware design means a virus cannot damage hardware.
There is a term 'Overheat signaling' that does not involve software. If processor overheats, then processor automatically throttles back or shuts down - a hardware function completely independent of software. Signaling is not accessible by 'machine code' in a virus. Overheat protection and other hardware functions are implemented in hardware. 'Machine code' instructions (from virus or other software) cannot damage hardware if machine is properly constructed.

But Yes, a virus can change the machine code of your BIOS, because nearly all the Firmwares are now upgradeable, so a Virus Maker can think of it, but again this will not cause damage to your Processor, although your Machine will not run on the next boot. Actually the work you used "HARM" may has a very vast meaning, the way I am telling you, I guess you understand.
If you are still having any question, do ask me.

If you think I was of help, your token of appreciation in the form of rating will be esteemed.
Concerned, Nooh

Can't log into my computer, says can't load my profile.

I am terribly sorry but if you cannot see the pics im afraid they MAY already be gone.

that is a VERY VERY evil virus.

Boot the computer up into safe mode (push and hold F8 on boot and use the up and down arrows to choose the options (if there is text saying click here for advanced boot options use that to get into safe mode.) Try to login using the account labeled administrator(no password) . once there try to recover your files and account (using control panel). click on start and then run now write in 'msconfig' and click run again. Now choose the startup tab, and then click disable all. - NOW click on the services tab, and then click on hide all microsoft services, then disable all the services that are not mircosoft. Hit apply then hit okay, THEN reboot.

This should disable the virus. If you cant find your files chances are they are gone. Im sorry

Nick

Can i repalace AMD athlon by dual core

what cpu you have [in this case AMD based] does not affect you virus protection level. you should get a good anti-virus software.
most of them don't cost much. may i recommend kaspersky anti-virus or NOD32 anti-virus.
if you do not wish to spend money on such software you can always try free anti-virus software. like Avira Antivir available here:

Dll files

I had the same problem. What I did was instert my xp disk then when you load up go to install windows. It will eitehr ask you to install a new copy or repair your copy, repair..you will have to reenter your product code, but it will reinstallyour dlls without losing all of your information. OTherwise backup all info you want to a disk, format and reinstall a fresh copy.

Make sure you get rid of the virus first though.
