Question about Microsoft Office Professional 2007 Full Version for PC

2 Answers

File types Greetings... I've just installed Office 2007 and I find that Word won't recognise some file extensions. The one I need specifically is .rtf. I am a writer and have thousands of Word documents saved as .rtf files, but since loading Office 2007 they have disappeared. Help, please? John

If I use the Open File option in Word I do not get an option to specify .rtf files.

Where does one find those two tools? I've looked at the programme vis the Start Menu but there's nothing remotely like those names.

    Solution #1:

If I use the Open File option in Word I am not offered an option for .rtf files.

    Solution #2:

I have no idea where to find those tools. I've looked at the programme list in the Start menu, but there's nothing like that in there.

The .rtf files are of the form Rich Text Format and should be available as input files without any trouble. By default, these are not included. If you use the file-open option, select the RTF filetype when the selection box appears and you should be able to view the available .rtf files.

This file format is blocked by the OFFICE 2007
You can configure block file format settings by using the Office Customization Tool (OCT) or the Group Policy Object Editor

My computer came with a trial version of microsoft office 2007 installed on it and I've never been able to find the product key and I need it to make changes to my resume, can you please help me?

Unfortunately, I do not know of any reputable vendors that still have Office Home and Student 2007 keys (or boxed versions) for sale.

There are other programs that can open an Office file. Some formatting issues may come up. The program WordPad is already on your computer (if you have Windows) and will open and Word file for editing. This is the most likely to lose your formatting.

Your next options are to use Apache OpenOffice, http://www.openoffice.org/ . When you use File > Open, you will be prompted tell the software which version of Office was used to create the file. A fork of this program called LibreOffice will also work. These should preserve most of the original formatting.

Otherwise, you'll need to buy Office 2013. (You might be able to find Office 2010 and install that.)

I hope this helps.

Cant open some of my downloaded file. need 2007 version

Hi, MS Word files have .doc extension (Word 97-2003 Format). Since launch of MS Office 2007, the files have the extension .docx. These files can be opened with earlier versions of MS Word (97, 2002, 2003 etc) by installing the compatibility pack, which is available at Microsoft Official Site. It is not at all necessary to Buy/ Install Office 2007 for opening such files. Visit the above link, download the compatibility pack/ converter and enjoy!
Let me know if any further clarification/ assistance is required.
Hope it helps! Good Luck! Thanks for using Fixya! CreativeTECH

This is the about page of Microsoft Office 2007 (Microsoft® Office Word 2007 (12.0.6212.1000) SP1 MSO (12.0.6213.1000)) I?ve used your codes and countless others and none seem to work. I am working...

If you installed Office 2007, it configures itself as the program to be used to "open" any 'DOC' files.

If Word 2000 is still installed, start it.
Then, use 'File' and 'Open' to select & read your file from your USB flash-drive.

Problems with .docx files

For infomration on Office 2007 .DOCX file format, refer to http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word/HA100444731033.aspx

I use Office 2003, and have installed and currently employ the "Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for 2007 Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint File Formats" mentioned in article. This is, for the most part, seamless when reading in Office 2007 .DOCX or .PPTX files, for examples, in Office 2003.

Otherwise, in Office 2007, you can change and set your Word Options so that you can save files in a specific format, including a previous Office version to ensure compatibility.
See http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/11/25/how-to-change-default-file-saving-format-from-docx-to-doc-in-word-2007/

Hope this makes sense... Good Luck!

Office 2007: Windows Installer searches for Office 2000

It looks like a problem with file associations. The computer maintains a list of file extensions and the programs that will open files with such extensions.

Windows live mail personal email folders to new Vista/Office 2007

EML extension is an Outlook Express file. You need to import the eml files to Outlook Express first. Drag and drop the emails into Outlook Express preview pane. Then you can import the emails from OE to Outlook.
