Has there ever been a product that appears to be copper covered aluminum household wire ,14/2

Yes, when copper wire is repeatedly heated / cooled, then it will experience "Metal Fatigue", where the connection point will snap right off. Depending on the County (State) you are in, there are different variations for building "rules" or 'code'. The "Building Code" is a LAW, that has penalties for not building to 'code'. But between when the building was inspected, and now, (2015) there have been many changes to improve the SAFETY and HEALTH of living in the home. The NEC, or "National Electrical Code" specifies the length a wire must be available inside the electric box. Once this length is less than the required minimum, then you need to replace the ENTIRE WIRE RUN. . . . . . There was a time that ALUMINIUM wiring was used in homes, in some states(provinces). You need the CORRECT SWITCHES and OUTLETS for AL wiring, they are not the same as the common(Home Depot) or hardware store products. They MUST be labelled for AL-CU wiring.... your FIRE INSURANCE depends on this.

Sears/Kenmore Range/Stove/Oven Manufacturers

Sears is a department store. They do not build their own appliances. They contract with many different manufacturers to build all of their appliances. This chart will help you determine who actually built your appliance, then you can choose the manufacturer from the charts on this page.

I have a garage door opener (Chamberlain Lift Master Professional 1/2 HP) all the sudden it stops durring clossing & opening The garage door. no paticular spot. just on a random spot at ramdom times,...

Somewhere on the power head( motor ) is 2 knobs. The are to adjust up and down force. As the opener gets a little old you will need to turn these up occasionally! Turn to the right a 1/4 of a turn and try. I that doesn't work turn it up a little bit more. This should get you fixed up!

GARAGE DOOR OPENER NOT GETTING POWER. WORKED FINE FOR YEARS AND ABRUPTLY STOPPED YESTERDAY. CHECKED THE OUTLET AND FUSEBOX IN BASEMENT ALL IS WELL, NO POWER TO MOTOR OR LIGHT.

Does you garage door opener have a fuse or CB - would be close to input line? Some do and some don't, but if you have power at the outlet, it is worth checking for. If there isn't you will need a multimeter to troubleshoot the problem.

Pull the case off, check the voltage level at the first point (this will tell you that the cord is okay). Then just follow the voltage, until you lose it. The assembly you lost it at is probably bad.

BUT sometimes it is really hard to find parts for the older garage door openers and you end up replaceing with a new one.

Sorry!

We just moved into a house that has a Chamberlain Whisper Drive garage door opener and about 5 days ago, it started opening by itself. I have found it open in the morning and at night coming hope, it is...

Hello,

It may be that your open code transmitted by your remote is the same as one of your neighbors. Change your code, and this may solve the problem. The directions should be on the back of the opener motor, or in your manual.
