Is it the kind with the green, red, blue tubes? If so just take the back off and clean the mirror and clean the tubes with a lens cleaning cloth, also look down in the tubes with the set on ( BE CAREFUL ) if you see what looks like dirt inside of any of them then the cooling fluid can be changed in them. It is a bacteria ( i think ) that grows in the fluid but no the red color tube. I paid $80 bucks to get the refilled and took the tubes out myself, dont let someone charge you $400 to do the job.

Hi i have been researching your problem and it seems this happens alot on these types of telly the problem people have been having is with the pcb formatter board and once this was replaced it solved the problem but when you get this replaced make sure to tell them to check the resistors leading to the pcb board as a blown resistor can cause the problem with the pcb board so get these checked as well.

This is a new system, however, when I first hook up the system up, I got a good clear color picture, but no audio, just buzzing, I changed my wire connection around, and I got the volume and picture, but I...

i would hook it up via an optical cable for audio or left and right rca cable for audio and try and stick with components for the video should solve the problem. the no color means if you are using a component cable you have put them in wrong. the blue and green look alot alike ihave messed up before. also i did some research on this model. i have heard some people running into these problems no matter how they hooked it up. hdmi the way to go tho.

It started out with alot of different colored squiggly lines it would clear up after about ten minutes but it just shut off yesterday the red button on the front still flashes though

Especially Projection TVs will shut down to protect the projection tubes because loss of proper scan can burn an image into the phosphors in the tube itself. The squiggly lines most likely are a symptom of a failure in the Horizontal output section (the part that scans the picture from left to right), there is also a possibility of the Vertical output section (the part that scans the picture from top to bottom causing the problem. This will require replacing a circuit board or repairing the one in the set at a component level. This is best left to a qualified Technician to do the work.

57H82 when I first turn on the tv it is all distorted looks kind of smeared and you can not make anything out. after about 15 to 20 min after it warms up you can see the picture but it has vertical wavey...

You can try setting the convergence for your tv which will be explained in the manual (if you don't have it anymore you could try the support page for Toshiba). I had a model like this, and when they get old you can get alot of dust inside which can affect the tv, and just years of use can sort of wear them out. I am a certified installer, and to get mine back to an old tv with a good picture was going to cost me $250 for the parts necessary. An electronic repair bill could be in the hundreds of dollars and you would still have an older tv. If you don't mind the slight inconvenience of waiting for it to warm up or the lines, that option doesn't cost any more money right now.

Picture blur display

If the picture shrinks and expands you can get a repair kit from www.tvrepairkits.com.

If the screen is just foggy looking my guess is the CRT fluid needs to be replaced.
