Good Evening Sunnyseber :

Hope that you are wellJ
You did not indicate the type of Operating System.
This document pertains to HP and Compaq computers with Windows Vista. If Windows Vista suddenly starts without warning, or restarts when you try to shut it down, it may be because your operating system is set to automatically restart when certain system errors occur. This feature of the Windows Vista operating system can be disabled. Use the information below to disable the Automatically Restart option. NOTE: In addition to the steps in this article, updating video card drivers is known to resolve many of the problems that can cause the computer to restart. Step 1: Disabling Automatically restart option to view error messages You can prevent the computer from restarting by turning off the Automatically Restart option:

  1. Click Start pc restarts automatically and unexpectedly - c00971562.gif .
  2. Right-click Computer , and click Properties
  3. Click Advanced system settings .
  4. Click the Advanced tab and select Settings in the Startup and Recovery section.
  5. Remove the check mark next to Automatically restart under System Failure .
  6. Click OK to close the Startup and Recovery window and click OK , again, and then close the System Properties window.
  7. Restart the computer. NOTE: The computer will no longer restart automatically when a problem occurs. Instead a blue screen appears with more useful information. You can now search for a resolution using the text from the error.

If I can be of further assistance, please let me know.

And, remember, always include the type of Operating System and the type of computer you own, when you submit your questions. It simply makes for much faster solutions.

Have a wonderful evening.

For Windows 7:

2)Click "More Power Options"
3)Click "Change Plan Settings" of the one that you are using
4)Change the time for "Dim the display"

It must be similar with any Operating System you are using. Just find the power options which is usually in the Control Panel.

On my everex impact pc window was updated , while windows was starting and now i receive the following error message when booting up "the computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered error. windows...

If I undrestand this correctly, this was a windows update? In some caese after a windows update, a restart is required and during shutdown and restart it configures that update. If the computer is shut down, "unexpectedly" or shut down before update is finished, then the update won't complete. If this is what happened, shut down computer by pressing power button on front of tower. Start system back up using on/off button. When screen comes up with options to start mormally or..., arrow up to "start in safe mode". Wait a couple of minutes and a window will come up "what is safe mode". Scroll down in that window until you see "what is safe mode", highlighted in different color, and click on that. It will take a couple of minutes, and another window will come up where you can scroll down to "start safe mode", click on this. This will take a couple of minutes and a window will come up with a suggested restart time and you will see a box "next". Click on the box. You should see the update in the list of things that come up. Click on the process just prior to the update and click "start or next". This will take a little time and will restart your system. When it comes up, let it think until you see a message "system restore complete", click on ok. Now you can click on start, find control panel and click on to open. In your list find "windows udate". Right click on and open. At the top left of screen you will see "check for updates" and click on that. It should recommend the update you just removed. If it it "important" check box, and install. Restart when update is finished and give it the time to do it's configurations.
If I misunderstood your problem you can let me know at "add a comment" or try reposting. Make sure you clarify between a "windows update" or a "windows upgrade".

I can't shut down my PC,It restarts again!

This behavior may occur if Windows stops responding during a typical operation or during the shutdown process. By default, the computer is configured to automatically restart when Windows stops responding. To view this setting, follow these steps:
  1. Click the Start button, right-click My Computer, click Properties, click the Advanced tab, and then click Settings under Start up and Recovery.
  2. Under System Failure, view the Automatically restart check box. If the Automatically restart check box is selected, Windows automatically restarts if the computer stops unexpectedly.
If your computer constantly restarts while you are using it, or if you are trying to shut down the computer after it has stopped unexpectedly, click to clear the Automatically restart check box. If you clear this check box, you receive an error message when the computer stops responding. This error message may describe the cause of the problem. You can also review the system log in Event Viewer to view the critical stop error that occurs when the computer restarts. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: 308427 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308427/ ) HOW TO: View and manage event logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP To configure the way that Windows responds when the computer stops unexpectedly, follow these steps.

Note: You must be logged on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group to complete this procedure. If your computer is connected to a network, network policy settings may prevent you from completing this procedure.
  1. Log on to the host computer as either an administrator or the owner.
  2. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
  3. Under Pick a category, click Performance and Maintenance.
  4. Under the or pick a Control Panel icon section, click System.
  5. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Settings under Startup and Recovery.
  6. Click to select any one of the following check boxes under System Failure:
    • Write an event to the system log
    • Send an administrative alert
    • Automatically restart
At last if nothing works then clear the "Star up"
  7. C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Start up
If you are not satisfied then If you are using XP then repair it.

thanks

PC restarts automatically without error message

Sounds like you may have a virus. There are many good free online scanners. For instance try Trendmicro's housecall or Panda online scanner or the one from Symantec.
A great virus program is Antivir. There is a free edition.
