Question about Hitachi 46F510 46" Projection HDTV
When I use the remote or press the power button (red light) on the TV it does not power off, but it goes into the Magic Focus mode. I click again on the power button, either on the remote or TV, and it goes to the channel I was watching before I decided to power off. Before I retire for the night, I have to power off the surge protector. That is the only way to shut down. In my day we fixed a TV by giving it a swift quick kick (say that fast). Not no more. Thank you. Flashtube.
Signals from the remote control is either not correct, or the remote control is damaged. Check the remote control for its infrared emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check it by pressing all the keys. You can detect the presence of infra-red emission from the remote control, using a cell-phone camera. If you wish to get more details about how to check a remote control, please visit this site. One among the posts has details about it. In some cases, the remote control might need to clean.

Good Day, you all;
The front panel light on Hitachi TV does not really tell you much. To see what the TV is doing or better said NOT doing is remove back from the set.
If you are not a technical type person, it would be better to consult an authorized service center, but if you are perform this; 1. Remove back
2. Observe led and notice which once light, there are as many as 9 LED's.
Now that will tell you what area of the TV's circuits are to be concerned about.
Let me know, Good Luck, big IRISH.

No there are no quick fix options for this fault. The convergence amplifiers operate similar to a high power audio amplifier, so if there is an impairment anywhere in the system, it will result in distorted audio, or in the case of television convergence amplifiers, a color won't align. The convergence power pacs need to be replaced and the out of tolerance precision resistors located near the power pacs need to be carefully checked and replaced as necessary.
It is also possible that there are root faults that cause the amplifiers to go bad which include bad connections or a bad digital control module. This repair is possible for anyone having basic electronics knowledge and soldering skills.

Either the blue CRT lamp, or the ballast board powering the blue lamp must be replaced. Before replacement the part must be tested reading high voltage out from flyback transformer for blue CRT. For safety reasons the test must be done by a trained person.
If I was in your shoes I would hope the problem being the flyback. CRT for Hitachi projectors are quite expensive. The flyback can be repaired by a technician working at component level. Part is about $40, but it may be out of stock.
