Hi mgray770,
It sound like you have done a good job already, but just a couple thoughts before you go buy a new one. If the board does nothing then it could be locked, check your owners manual or whirlpool.com for the exact unlock instructions. Most units you hold the clear and pots and pans button down for 3 seconds together. If that dont work try to reset the board. To do this simply turn off the breaker that powers the dishwasher, wait about 5 minutes then turn it back on. This may reset the problem and start working. Next check the ribbon from the board to the display. If the ribbon is not plugged in properly it may not show anything on the board. Then you can always get a price on the control board. I do stock alot of different dishwasher controls and they are always cheaper than a replacing the dishwasher. Just send me over the model number and I will be happy to give you the price and availability on it. Good luck Mgray, I hope I saved you some money. and please dont forget to rate me. Thanks

C0500 error code

First open the right side cover where the image unit is located. Check the two latches that latch the door ensure they are not broken, especially the rear one. Then get a paper clip and stick the clip in the small hole on the right side of the control panel it will touch a switch. The control panel will go thru some screens when you see the screen with the copiers on it on the left side of the screen in the middle you will see a small "." When the dot appears touch 3 button. Then the machine will continue to the code screen. Press the Utility button you should see a new button "Maintenance Mode" touch it then touch trouble reset. The machine will again go thru screens will see the"." again do nothing. Should go ready to Copy. If the code comes back do not reset, you are messing with the Fuser the Hot part. Continuing to reset without a technician looking at and or replacing it, the fuser can catch on fire and that would ruin a perfectly good day.

C-0500 code mean no power to the fuser inside mid cover front is a micro switch that provides the power to the fuser unit

KITCHENAID OVEN MODEL KEMS 308 SELF CLEANING

Hi David.

The error is F5E1 and means door latch problem detected. This happened in consequence of the power cut while the unit was in self clean.

Try pressing and holding down the cancel button for one minute.
Try disconnecting power from circuit breaker for ten minutes, that will reset the control board.
If that does not work the door latch, wiring and control module must be tested and the defective part replaced.

Here full troubleshooting from Kitchenaid service papers:

1. If the door lock is latched:
  1. Disconnect power.
  2. Check wiring and connectors from control module to door switch, then from door switch to control (do a continuity test). If no damage to wires and all connectors okay, proceed to step 3.
  3. Replace the door switch.
  4. Re-apply power.
  5. Press and hold down any key down for 1 minute to clear the F5 failure code from memory. F2 will appear. Press CANCEL and wait one minute.
2. If door not latched:
  1. Disconnect power from unit.
  2. Check wires and connectors from control to latch switch, then from latch switch to control. If no damage to wires and all connectors okay, proceed to step C.
  3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the door switch.
3. Measure door switch (door open =switch open - Ohms infinity/small low voltage terminals depending on test done- Ohms reading is done with power off). Replace switch if defective.
4. Measure latch switch (unlatch = switch open, CAUTION - oven light contacts are closed). Replace switch if defective.
5. If corrections are made in any step, reconnect power to control. Press and hold any key for 1 minute to clear R failure code from memory. F2 will appear. Press CANCEL and observe for 1 minute to ensure operation is correct.
6. If the problem remains, disconnect power and replace control module.

Regards.

E1 F5 code after self clean cycle. its been 12 hours and wont unlock and still says code

Hi.

E1 and F5 (F5-E1) means that the Self clean latch will not lock. The problem is usually fixed replacing the door latch. If the door latch is working, check wiring to door latch. The control module causing the error is not very common but possible. If the latch and wiring are OK, check control board.

Here troubleshooting from manual:

1. If door latched:

1. Disconnect power from unit.
2. Check wires and connectors from control to door switch, then from door switch to control. If no damage to wires and all connectors okay, proceed to step C.
3. Replace door switch.
4. Re-apply power.
5. Press and hold any key down for 1 minute to clear F5 failure code from memory. F2 will appear. Press CANCEL and observe for 1 minute to ensure operation is correct.

2. If door not latched:

1. Disconnect power from unit.
2. Check wires and connectors from control to latch switch, then from latch switch to control. If no damage to wires and all connectors okay, proceed to step C.
3. Repeat steps A and B for door switch.

3. Measure door switch (door open = switch open small low voltage terminals).
6. If failure remains, disconnect power and replace control.

Good day after the power is turned on to my brand new kudc03fvss dishwasher, nothing happens. have made sure that the power supply is ok and that the door is properly closed. there is 115 volts at the...

you said your getting 115 volts and that is across the power wire and its neutral not a power and ground.. i had a case like this last week and when i got there the unit had power if tested from black to ground but not from black and the white neutral..the customer had lost a neutral leg to the circuit... if you indeed have the correct voltage the power goes through the door switch make sure it is latching and sending current back through the circuit board... not positive but does this unit have a fusible link on the top part of the circuit board. dome of kitchen aid and whirlpool gray boards installed a fuse that would go bad also...hope this helps out if not repost with more info we will get you running somehow.... good luck

No power to dishwasher and checked power breaker already it seams to be ok. I think its the door switch. I closed the door to hard one day so I wonder if it did something to it.

If your dishwasher doesn't work at all, check these:
Power from the house Is there power getting to the dishwasher? This can be difficult to test, because dishwashers are usually wired directly to an electrical circuit, rather than plugged into the wall. But at least check for a blown fuse or a tripped circuit breaker. Door switch The door switch is important because, if it's defective, the dishwasher won't work at all. To reach it, you need to remove the control panel cover, or sometimes the interior liner of the door. If it's defective, you need to completely replace it. Wiring Often the main wiring connection from the house, at the dishwasher, burns and breaks the connection. If that's the problem, the wires must be repaired/replaced as necessary. If that's not the problem, check the wiring to the door switch, the wiring between the door and the lower part of the dishwasher, and the wiring to the timer. Repair any broken, burned, brittle, or defective wiring, using the proper appliance-grade wire and connectors. Timer or selector switch Although it's uncommon, the timer or the selector switch may be defective. If so, you need to replace the defective part, because neither of these can be repaired.
thanks.

Maytag dishwasher mdb7601 will not run-

if power to the dishwasher is OK, then the door latch may be the problem. You need to unplug the unit, remove the inside cover to the door and check the door latch switches (may be a pair) with an ohm meter for continuity. Each switch is a make/break connection. If that is OK, the problem could be a power connector to the control circuit board that could be loose.

My maytag dishwasher appears dead just after 1 year

You probably have a bad main control or console control unit in there. Turn power off to the machine, be sure that BOTH of your door switches are ok. Unplug your membrane to control panel ribbon cable, then put everything back in place. Leave the door open, then turn power back on to machine. (also, be sure the thermal fuse hasnt tripped while your in the console). After re-appling power, close the door, and wait a few, if the console unit is bad, the machine will go into drain mode (you will here the unit start in drain). If no drain mode, then your control is shorted. You dont have to see any burn marks, etc for one to be bad, in fact, 98% of the boards we replace, dont show any signs of problems. Let me know what you find out.

Has power all the way past the latch, but cycle selection buttons dont respond

Hi nipdoes2,

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

Your problem is: You followed the power as far as the door switch.

If you follow it past the door switch you'll find a bad control board. The power goes in but it doesn't come out. It's an integrated circuit so it must be replaced. Check with the manufacturer for the part.

Unit won't power up completely

The clicks you hear are the relay that completes the circuit for 110V AC to the main power transformer. Mine had the same problem and here's how I've gotten it to work. A lightning strike near our house caused it to fail, and I traced it to the power transformer relay activation circuit. The tuner and amp were fine. I found a bad transistor in the relay circuit, but didn't have a replacement on hand, so I soldered a jumper wire across the relay switch connections on the power transformer circuit board. This connects the 110V AC directly to the power transformer. DC Power to the amp and tuner circuits will still be controlled by the power switch, but the transformer will be supplying all the AC voltages to the main board. If there is a real problem with the circuits that load the transformer or the transformer itself, then the fuse will blow. If the fuse doesn't blow then I suspect the problem is just in the power sequencing circuit itself, that is not needed for operation other than to make the unit "Energy Star Compliant". A lot of electronic items have a transformer that is not switched, and only fused, so that the supplies are available at all times.
