Question about Dell 924 All-in-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Color not the same as photo

I bought a 924 color cartidge from staples, I can't get the cover to close , on further investigation the cartridge says, photo, the one I'm replacing said color and has two raised bumps on the top on the left.
The new 'photo' cartridge has the bumps on the top right hand side
and it doesn't fit.Has anyone used a 'photo' cartridge in their 924?

Are you using Dell Series 5 ink cartridges?

Unplug the printer from the wall. Now remove the power brick from the back of the printer for 60 seconds. Plug everything back in. This will reset any error messages the printer has.

Power on the printer. Open the printer and take out the Dell Series 5 Black cartridge. make sure all the tape is off the cartridge and put the cartridge back in. Now do the same for the Dell Series 5 color cartridge.

Close the printer. It should print an alignment page. Any error messages?

Black cartridge = black side(left side) color cartridge = color side(right side)

Photo cartridge = black side(left side) color cartridge = color side(right side)

Dell Series 5 ink cartridges have a sensor in them that cannot be reset. Article on refilling Dell ink cartridges.

Dell Series 5 ink cartridges can be purchased at Staples, Walmart or Dell's Website.

If these ink cartridges are new, then take them to the place of purchase for a refund or replacements. If they're old, then try purchasing a new Dell Series 5 ink cartridge.

Erro 1203 solution

1. open the front cover of the printer
2. wait for the cartridge carrier to be in the center..
3. remove the mono and color cartridge or printhead

next: power off the printer while the front cover is open .

Dell 924 printer shows error as "unsupported cartridge"

You can't have a Dell cartridge refilled. It's Dell's way of making big bucks selling overpriced cartidges. Their practise is almost illegal and eventually they will get sued.
Buy an HP or a Kodak printer. Both sell better printers and their cartidges can be refilled.

HP Deskjet F2100 All-in-one has two slots for printer cartidges. Which of these two slots is meant for photo cartidge?

The photo cartridge replaces the black cartridge. It is used along with the color cartridge to provide better photo's.

The photo cartridge contains photo black, light cyan and light magenta while the color cartridge provides cyan, magenta and yellow. Both photo and color cartridges need to be installed and working for proper photo printing.
