No sound/test tone front front right channel

Hi,

I have bought Denon DHT 1356XP system, which has a Denon AVR 1306 reciver just a week back. The front right channel is not producing any sound/test tone. I checked the connections, replaced the cable but did not succeed. Pls help.

Thanks

    Thanks Marsover,

yesterday i tried changing the speakers from right to left, the problem still remained on the speaker getting connected to the right channel. Later i pulled out the speaker wires from the reciver's end for the right channel, cut them and pulled out new strings from the insulation, twisted them and inserted, the speaker is working fine, though not 100% put closed to the left channel. I guess the problem was old stings in the wire which had got over twisted and were not parallel to each other.

    regards

1-make a reset to your system.2-repeat your speaker setup.3-confirm that you assign your sysem for 5 chanell surround system.-4-change the cables between left and right front speakers if the trouble go to left channel you will have a problem in receiver itself-if the problem exict you will have a problem in speaker itself(cable or speaker)

My Denon dvd-2910 does not play 5.1. It is connected to Denon AVR-3805. It plays just stereo. The center, back channels and subwoofer don't give any sound

Your Denon DVD-2910 produces left and right audio output. Your Denon AVR-3805 generates 5.1 channel output; therefore, 5.1 channel output may not have been selected or the AVR-3805 may be defective.

Go though your menu on the reciever, Look for the speaker functions for your front end rear speakers ,It was probably turned off. Was it working before you got it from your friend,

Denon 785 reciever the subwoofer is producing no bass. Did tone check check all conections. Is it possible could be malfunction with reciver?

Is EVERYTHING in this scenario new (unknown functionality)?

You don't say what the result of the tone check was, nor do you identify the sub.

If your unnamed sub uses Line Level inputs just run one of the AVR's Tape Out's to it to prove the sub works. IT WILL BE LOUD since no volume control is in line with generic Line Outs. If it uses speaker level input, just run a speaker pair to it from the front channel. THEN you will know in which direction to proceed.

Hi I have Denon 1910 7.1 avr, I bought last February 2010, the right front channel is producing some sort of sound distortion (hiss and popping sounds) when the receiver is turned on, I tried...

I SUSPECT THE CHANNEL IS BLOWN.YOU COULD TRY OPENING THE UNIT AND SEE IF THERE IS ANY GLASS FUSES.ONE MIGHT BE BLOWN.IF NO FUSES THEN TAKE IT TO A TECHNITION FOR REPAIR.THAT WILL BE YOUR ONLY OTHER OPTION.I KNOW,I HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN TO ME.GOOD LUCK

No surround back channel - damage during transport

I think your receiver has cracked main (amplifier) board close to surround back channel terminals. Need to take apart the receiver remove the board, inspect it and resolder cracked traces. Unfortunately it is not so easy to remove that board and probably you need to bring it to a repair shop.

Weird surround sound speaker behavior with Denon 2105 7.1

Sounds interesting.
It may sound silly, but can you check all your speaker cables again and confirm whether they are connected to the right connections. please check all cables as also the severed one and please repair it also.

Now please go to the system-set-up and do an auto setup and set up your speakers. Listen to the test tones and confirm that they are coming out of the correct speaker.

Once these are set, then if still there is mismatch of sounds, then we could further trouble shoot.
