My furnise will run fine and than it will quit and i have to power it down and back on again.when i do this it is flashing a 12 code while the blower is on .than when the inducer motor starts it is a solid red.the ignitor than glows the gas valve clicks and than i have the flame.it runs fine than the heat wont come on so i go through the same steps but sometimes when it goes through the sequence of starting, the gas valve clicks but no flame.i than have a code 34. the ignitor will reignite about about 3 time before it goes into lockout mode.if i keep resetting it until it does cycle and produce heat,it will run most all day or night but eventually i have to go through the whole deal again until it starts and you never know how long that will be.i replaced the gas valve and the inducer motor and it still does it.it sequences fine up to when it should produce a flame.sometime it will light the flame and than it will go out in a second or so.it is running right now perfectly but it will qiut sooner or later.any help would be appreciated.
When the furnace fires and then 1 second later the flame quits, that's your flame sensor/flame rod. Its the lil metal rod at the burner section, that the flame passes across/comes in contact with. Has 1 wire connected to it. Clean it gently with a pc of sand paper, but don't make it shine, just a light cleanind will do. Here is a link that has answered the trouble codes.

SOURCE: Furnace won't work because of a loose Inducer Motor Connector
Cut power to the system at the main disconnect.
Turn the gas off at the unit.
remove the panel, andsee if the stakon conection is intact. Chances are its just a loose connection from your description.
If the problem is not obviose, let us know what you did or did not find.

No, the blower motor is supposed to run and dissipate most of the heat. It sounds like the blower motor isn't running.

If you can get to the shaft of the motor, oil it using electric motor oil. If the motor spins freely, you just may need to replace the start capacitor, however if it is binding; you will need to replace the inducer as an assembly.
SOURCE: Carrier Weathermaker 8000 ignitor won't glow...
Hi, If you can take a good light and just look at the glow end of the hot surface ignitor, 95% of the time you will be able to see where the break is on the glow surface. If you have excess to a electrical meter, you would unplug the hot surface ignitor, that is the correct name for it and set the meter for continuity. Touch each lead from meter to each wire and you will show a reading of some kind if it is good, and nothing if it is open or burned out. If you are lighting it by hand (dangerous) it shows that the inducer motor, flame sensor, and main gas valve are in good shape. I know when its cold you have to do what it takes. If the main controller which may be a control circuit board with a red led light on it, or it may be a blue, or gray, white control box with wiring going to it with markings such as TH, TR, C, MGV, PV, Ect. on it and would be right where you are working to light the pilot manually. If it runs when you light it by hand, the control box is good or it would lock out when you would light it. Check out that hot surface ignitor/ glow plug. The part number is imprinted on it. It is either a 120 volt or may be 24 volt hot surface ignitor as some models have one or the other. A tip when installing the new one. Do not touch the surface end that glows with your fingers in anyway, as the oil from your fingers will cause it to burn in half! What happens to these hot surface ignitor is dust settles on them over time and causes them to burn in have or a crack in them. Rheem and Ruud units came out with there's mounted in a horizontal position and they kept burning out fast as dust would build fast. They finally come up with a bracket to mount it in a vertical position and solved this problem. Anyway, unplug it, pull it out and inspect it very good for any signs of a tiny crack or what ever. Ohm it out if you have a meter. You can buy one at a appliance parts house and they are very reasonable. Please keep me posted on what you find. I will be here for help. I wish you the best as I know you can do this.
Sincerely,
