have the gas cap tested or just replace it, then disconnect the battery for 5 minutes to reset the code, then drive it for a few miles and see if problem comes back, if it does a trip to the dealer is in order, as this may be covered by your emission warranty which is good for 70,000 miles.

just a suggestion this may not be your problem but check by your brake pedal for a switch that will be built like the switch that turns out your refriderator lite this switch is a safety telling the shifter the brake is depressed and it is safe to shift out of nuetral, make sure the brake is fully depressing this switch good luck

I have also same issue with my 1998 Honda Passport. Is no check engine light, no codes to determine the problem. I brought my car to the Smog Test twice for the same problem the Evaparative System in their Computer shows "Not Ready". The test center advised me to drive it more 100 miles and I went to them more than 200 miles but the result did not change. And just this morning, I brought it to the Smog Test Center with 500 miles on, it result did not change again, I got the same issued "Evaporative System Not Ready". What is the solution with this problem with no ENGINE CHECK light on?
