Hi. I want to change the MTU to 1364 so I can play on Xbox live using my zyxel P660 DW .

Can you play with XBox Live *without* changing the MTU ?
If so, then the "default" value can be used.

How to set up Xbox Live on 360

    1. Have a subscription of Xbox live, it can be from 8 dollars to 50 dollars, this is required to play live with anyone.
    2. If your Xbox is not located near a router or modem, you would have to buy a wireless network adapter but it can be quite costly($89)
    3. If your Xbox is close to the router or modem, all you have to do is plug an ethernet cable in the modem/router, and the other side on the back of your Xbox or Xbox 360.
    4. Turn on the system and on the dashboard, try to create a Xbox Live account.
    5. There are 2 types of LIVE accounts. One is called SILVER which lets you download demos, chat with friends, download arcade games, download movies and Tv Shows but no muiltiplayer, the other one is called GOLD, which lets you have all the features of SILVER but also lets you play with other people around the world, read step 1 for price.

Xbox can't find network on PC.

the other persons tip is trash mines better ;)

you can go to your routers2_bing.gif website and enter it manually. Type 192.168.1.1 this might be it or try 192.168.2.1 or 192.168.1.100

when it shows your routers2_bing.gif info write it down and then put it in your xbox's network by entering it manually. btw the secondary DNS is just 0.0.0.0 if it doesn't give you two. the gateway2_bing.gif is just your routers ip address.

what else you can do is do port forwarding.
But the xbox is not a static ip address2_bing.gif so it'll change. what you can do is when it says to put your ip address in your xbox put all the numbers the same as the routers ip address BUT DON'T USE THE SAME LAST NUMBER! so like if your routers ip address is 192.168.1.1 you can use 192.168.1.23 i use 192.168.2.15 but you may not have the 2 in yours.

Xbox live is not working it keeps coming up with 'you need an active connection to play online or system link matches' but my connection is fi and none of my friends can play as well?

Suggestion: <b>MTU Error</b>

This issue occurs if your router or the gateway is incompatible with Xbox Live, or if your router or the gateway has an incorrect MTU setting. Note: Xbox Live requires a minimum MTU setting of 1364. We recommend that you try out the steps shown below.

Things to try:
1. Ensure that you have properly setup your connection to Live by using the Connectivity Wizard http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/connecttolive/xbox360/connectionmethods/webconnectivitywizard.htm
2. Visit the following Web site to determine whether you have the correct firmware version that has been certified as compatible: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/connect/routerlanding.htm
3. See the router or gateway instruction manual for information about how to change the MTU setting to 1364, to do this, or to determine whether your router supports this feature, see the router support documentation or contact support for your router device.
4. If you share a connection with a router and a modem, try a direct connection without the router.

For additional information on this topic refer to the following KB article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/908882/

Why isnt my xbox connecting? i plugged the cble into the rouder and then put the other cable into the xbox and its not letting me connect.

To make a router connection to Xbox Live:
  1. Before you connect any cables, turn off your router, modem, PC, and Xbox 360 console. (Unplug your modem from its power source to turn it off.)
  2. Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on your modem and the other end to the Ethernet input port on the back of your router.
  3. With another Ethernet cable, connect one end to one of the router's Ethernet output ports. Connect the other end to your PC's Ethernet port.
  4. With the third Ethernet cable, connect one end to another of the router's Ethernet output ports. Connect the other end to the Ethernet port on the back of the Xbox 360 console.
  5. Turn on your modem, then your router, then your PC.
  6. Make sure your PC can access the Internet. If not, you may need to configure the router for Internet access. For help configuring the router using your PC, check the instructions that came with the router.
  7. Turn on your Xbox 360 console with no disc in the disc tray.
  8. If you've already used your Xbox 360 system for offline play, the Xbox Dashboard will open to the Xbox Live area. Select the Xbox Live banner. When you see the Xbox Live Marketplace you'll know you're connected to Xbox Live.
