My X3400 will not accept a scan from my printer

Did you reinstall the printer on your PC? Did you install the correct version of the printer software? If your old computer and new computer has different versions of windows, then make sure you put the correct version on the new computer.

Also, you should be able to start the scan from the computer if you have the software loaded correctly and both are communicating. If you are doing it from the Printer, it might be trying to find a folder to put the scans that were on the old computer and not the new one.

Installed a new hp printer. Now evrything runs slowly including the internet

go to START, RUN and type "MSCONFIG" Then after the windows pops up at the top there are tabs. Click on the STARTUP tab, Find your printer software in the startup tab and uncheck it and click apply. This will stop your printer software from starting up every single time you computer boots up, This will not stop you from being able to print only from the software from running from the startup. Some printer software may have to be re-opened when your ready to print but not with most.

I have a C4200 printer and it works perfectly except I cannot print from the internet eg a Google page the caption shown is 'Printer Not Ready', what am I doing wrong.

Thank you for your response, yes the problem is fixed, the computer was defaulting (only on internet printing not email etc) to an old printer that was replaced with the HP C4280. The mystery was it did not always do this and sometimes I could print from the internet on the HP.
I have now deleted the old printer and all seems to be fine.

A J Moore.

Cannot get t180 to talk to the printer Lexmart x6100

check that the driver that is on the cdrom is vista supported and not XP as this will cause problems, the printer that is set at default may not be the lexmark, so check in the printers menu that it is actually listed.

Try here for a driver
