Question about Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-32FS120 32" TV

1 Answer

Scroll captions cut off

Scroll captions are cut off at the bottom. I understand you can fix this using the remote if you know some sort of code. Does anyone know the code so I can move the entire screen up. Not a tilt problem

PUSHED WRONG BUTTON ON REMOTE, NOW HAVE BLACKOX IN MIDDLE OF SCREEN. HOW DO I GET RID OF IT.

Go into menu, scroll down to captions, press right arrow until off is highlighted, then press enter on the remote, you should have normal TV viewing. Some remotes have a separate button for captions.

There appears a solid black in the lower one third of the screen. What adjustment do I have to do?

It sounds like the captions for the hearing impaired is active, get remote and select menu, scroll down to captions, right arrow 1,2,3,4,off, make sure cursor is over off and press enter on your remote and should restore normal function to the set, some remotes have the caption button that is separate from the menu.

A black screen appeared on my TV. I know it has something to do with programing it using the remote control for the Insignia converter box, but I can not figure it out. can somebody help please? Thanks...

First look for the cc button (closed captioning) on the remote control. Press it several times back to back to scroll through the various options. Finally press the button until you see that it has cycled to "off." If this doesn't work then
Press menu and locate where the closed captioning settings are. You will see that you have the closed captioning set up for text. When you go into the closed captioning menu category and select off the black box will go away.

Need caption taken off

Hi, the only other way would by going into the menu or display mode by pressing the corresponding key located in the front of the TV(if available) and using the other keys to scroll down the list to where you can access the audio features. you'll have to look for the caption heading once in the audio select menu and keep pressing the select key untill the cc feature says off, this should eliminate the black box blocking the picture.

I have accidentally turned the child lock on and then turned of the tv and when i switch it back on it comes up locked on the screen and none of the buttons respond and i do not have the remote controll...

Get a Magnavox (or Philips, same company) brand universal remote and try this. I found this info at a tech website, but I haven't tried it myself (never have used parental lock on any set), so I don't know if really a solution.

Philips sets use 0711 as the override code to defeat parent lock. You may need to enter the code twice if it says "invalid code" the first time.

Using the remote control:

Press the MENU key. Scroll up or down until you reach AUTOLOCK or SMARTLOCK. Press the "right arrow" key. Enter code 0711. Enter it again if it says invalid code.

Once in the AUTOLOCK or SMARTLOCK menu:

Scroll to BLOCK. Press the "right arrow" key. Scroll to BLOCKING OPTIONS. Press the "right arrow" key. Scroll to MASTER DISABLE. Press the "right arrow" key. This should unlock the parental control.

Hope this works for you. Thanks for using Fixya!

How do you turn off close caption on magnavox 32crt tv w/o orginial remote, I have a univerisal remote doesn't have the cc on it nor on the menu on the tv screen please let me know

You don't need the remote. I just did this today.
First Press, menu, then use the channel up button to scroll up.

Once you scroll up about 5 items the CC options are there. A few clicks of vol + button will get that off your screen for good.
