Hi, thank you so so much, that has solved the problem, but now I have a new one!

When I restarted it after the scan to normal mode, the virus had cleared, but I have no desktop icons any more or a start bar! Can you advise on this at all please?

Thanks for the continued advice, but unfortunately it didn't work :(

Is it worth taking it to a shop? or would that be to pricey?

You have a virus or trojan. Un-install Norton's and install the free AVG. then restart in safe mode and run the scan.

I would do a restore to a System Restore point. Making sure you pick a date previous to the date the Norton's started acting up. When you do the system restore, You may need to uninstall Nortons and reinstall AVG. then run a scan again

This problem may be residue from whatever infection you had.

Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore.

Don't give up. Insert your Winxp cd, and do a repair.

When the cd boots it will give you an option to install or repair, on the first page click on install. On the next page, you will get an option to Install or repair again. This time select repair and let it finish. It will correct the problem without damaging your data.

    Let me know.

Cannot send avanquest estimates and invoices from gmail to customer's yahoo email

What format are your Avanquest forms being created in? The best solution would be to print the estimates and invoices as PDF documents which should then be able to be sent through any email service provider. . . .It is quite likely that the current document attachments are being considered as potential virus attachments and are being screened out by the email service. . . .You can install a free PDF Printer from such as Bullzip which can be selected like a normal printer and which will produce the documents in PDF format.

Cannot login to my facebook account used up all attempts to reset my login.

    • 1 Go to your computer bring up the Facebook login screen like you normally would. Do not fill in any information.
    • 2 Click on the link above your Facebook user name and password that states forgot your password. This brings you to a different screen.
    • 3 Fill in the email address associated or on file with your Facebook account. If you cannot remember, keep trying different email addresses until you do.
    • 4 Click enter and a Facebook reset link will be sent to your email so you can recover your password. It usually takes up to 5 minutes. Check your spam email folder if the email does not appear in your inbox.
    • 5 Click the link in your email and answer any security questions by Facebook. This brings back to the Facebook website.
    • 6 Reset your password with a phrase you will remember mixed in with 1 to 2 numbers or more. Record this in a notebook or on a safe place. Use a different password than you would for your email. This decreases your chances of having both websites compromised.

How can I retrieve sent email. I sent it to a wrong person

On the left hand side of your gmail window there is a sent mail link. If you click on that it will show all the mail you have ever sent. From here you can find the email you sent, open it up and copy the message from it to send to someone else. *** for getting the email message back, unfortunately that is impossible, once a message is sent there is no getting it back. Sorry.
Good Luck and vote for me if this answer helped you out. Cheers.

I sent an email to someone's email account by accident. Is there anyway I can have that email deleted from their aol email account?

Once you have clicked send and the e-mail has been sent it is out of your control and it cannot be stopped. However you can make sure that have actually sent the e-mail. Check your Drafts folder and see if the mail is there. If you find it there it has not been sent and you can discard the e-mail instead of sending it.

Can't download purchase product

Seems this is a fairly common problem. Symantec's website has an answer for you, seems easy enough. If you don't have the order number from the confirmation email they sent you, they say you can search for it by putting in your email address and last five digits of your credit card. How nice of them.

Hope that helps!

Messege errors

It sounds as though there is an email stuck in your outbox. I don't know which email program you are using, but you should be able to open your email program, wait for the error messages to appear, close the error messages & delete whatever is in your outbox.

Sending wireless messages

If Norton is intervening, it's most likely to be the anti-spam package that's doing it - make sure you don't have it installed, and if you do, try disabling it, if that doesn't work, try uninstalling it. That should do the job.
