    Hi,

Thanks for the continued advice, but unfortunately it didn't work :(

Is it worth taking it to a shop? or would that be to pricey?

You have a virus or trojan. Un-install Norton's and install the free AVG. then restart in safe mode and run the scan.

I would do a restore to a System Restore point. Making sure you pick a date previous to the date the Norton's started acting up. When you do the system restore, You may need to uninstall Nortons and reinstall AVG. then run a scan again

This problem may be residue from whatever infection you had.

Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore.

Don't give up. Insert your Winxp cd, and do a repair.

When the cd boots it will give you an option to install or repair, on the first page click on install. On the next page, you will get an option to Install or repair again. This time select repair and let it finish. It will correct the problem without damaging your data.

    Let me know.

Cannot send e-mail

Email Will Receive but Will Not Send b> According to the Radicati Group, a technology market research company, over 107 trillion emails were sent in 2010 -- that's roughly 294 billion emails a day. Moreover, the company estimates that there will be 3.8 billion email accounts by 2014. With so much activity, some users are sure to run into trouble when trying to send a message. If you are receiving emails but can't send them, it may be due to a number of issues, most of which you can quickly fix on your own.
SMTP Authentication b> Many email clients and providers require that your outgoing email messages are authenticated by an SMTP server prior to being sent. This authentication process adds an additional level of security and helps prevent junk mail from being sent out. If you have SMTP authentication disabled, however, your email will not be authenticated and will not be sent, even though you may still receive emails. To fix this issue, enable SMTP authentication by placing a checkmark next to the option in your email client or provider's Settings menu. b> Port 25 Blocking Port 25 is the port that is used to send email. Whenever you attempt to send an email, the email is routed through port 25 and the data is transmitted to remote email servers. If this port is blocked, you will be able to receive email but you will not be able to send it. Some Internet service providers block this port on their servers, so if you suspect that you are unable to send email because of port 25 blocking, contact your ISP and request that the port be unblocked. No Default Email Account b> If you do not have a default email account set up on your email client, and you haven't selected a specific account when composing the message, the client will not be able to deliver your email. A sent email must always be tied to an email account to protect other email users. To remedy this issue, specify a default account in the email client's Account Settings menu, or specify which account you want to send the email from when composing the message. b> Anti-Virus/Anti-Spam Scanner b> If you have an anti-virus or anti-spam scanner installed on your computer or as a plugin for your email client, it may be preventing your emails from being sent. This happens when the scanner times out while scanning an email for viruses or spam content, or when it detects what it believes to be a virus or spam while scanning the message. To remedy this issue, disable the anti-spam or anti-virus program, then send the message as normal.
Hope this helps.

I cannot log in to facebook. Keep getting message that password is incorrect. E-mail I get from facebook does not help either

Instructions
  1. 1 Go to your computer bring up the Facebook login screen like you normally would. Do not fill in any information.
  2. 2 Click on the link above your Facebook user name and password that states forgot your password. This brings you to a different screen.
  3. 3 Fill in the email address associated or on file with your Facebook account. If you cannot remember, keep trying different email addresses until you do.
  4. 4 Click enter and a Facebook reset link will be sent to your email so you can recover your password. It usually takes up to 5 minutes. Check your spam email folder if the email does not appear in your inbox.
  5. 5 Click the link in your email and answer any security questions by Facebook. This brings back to the Facebook website.
  6. 6 Reset your password with a phrase you will remember mixed in with 1 to 2 numbers or more. Record this in a notebook or on a safe place. Use a different password than you would for your email. This decreases your chances of having both websites compromised.

How do you delete facebook messages? My facebook has 300 comments.

1.
Log in to the Facebook website (see the "Resources" section) with your registered email address and password.

2.
Select "Inbox" from the navigation menu. Email messages received from Facebook messaging system load on the screen.

3.
Press the "Sent" link. All messages you've sent via Facebook's email system are listed.

4.
Select the messages you'd like to delete by clicking on the "X" next to each message. To select multiple messages, click on the box next to each sent message you wish to delete. To select all sent messages, press the "All" button. To deselect all messages, click the "None" button.

5.
Click on the "Delete" button from the menu bar.

Will not print, printer icon comes on but zero pages to print

numbered_list.gifIn your email program once you send a message it will go from the outbox to the sent items. if there was any problem it would not appear in the sent items box, but would remain in the outbox and would post an error to you.
Now- go to tools, options, receipts tab, and put a check mark in the first box. And send your email as normal. That way when they open the email at their end you get a message that says they opened your email at their end.

Can't send links

Try dropping the HyperTextTransferProtocol (HTTP://), or you can just send the link with an apostrophe ' in front of the link
'http://www.yahoo.com

People will get it and it won't be highlighted nor underlined.

I want to recall the last email sent

Hi Pete 1221,

If you are using Microsoft Outlook, then you can recall the email you sent by going to the "Sent Items" folder then open the message click on the ACTIONS menu on the top then choose "Recall This Message". It should be able to get the message back, unless the recepient already read the email.

I don't know about the programs, but some of the programs have something similar to this also, so you need to check HELP function of the program. For online emails like GMAIL or Yahoo! it usually doesn't have the option to retrieve the message back after you sent it in.

Hope this helps!

Peace! :)
