Question about HP Photosmart 8250 InkJet Printer

Open Question

HP Photosmart 8250 won't pick up photo paper...

When I first bought this printer, it worked fine. Then all of a sudden, it wouldn't pick up regular photo paper in the tray. The tray would go in and the screen said that my pictures were printing, then a message ont the screen would say Out of Paper. Load paper then press OK. It seems like if I keep pressing OK everytime I get that message, eventually my pictures will print, but I have to keep trying about 25 times before they will. Also, once it starts printing pictures, it will usually have no trouble picking up paper. The setting is set on Photo Tray on the printer, and I use HP photo paper.

I have this EXACT same problem. It simply will not consistently pick up regular paper in the tray. The tray would go in and the screen said that my document was printing, then a message comes on the screen saying Out of
Paper. Load paper then press OK. It seems like if I keep pressing OK
every time I get that message, eventually my document will print, but I
have to keep trying about 5 times before it actually picks up the paper. Very frustrating.

SOURCE: Photos in Mac's iPhoto will

This is an older post, but it appeared to be unanswered. In iPhoto once a photo is selected, you hit "Print" at the bottom right. A preview screen with options comes up. Once the correct options there are chosen, you need to hit print again - but it does not print yet. Instead a second "Print" window opens. In the middle of this window there is an "iPhoto" button with arrow buttons on the right. The arrow buttons open a drop down menu. Choose "Paper/Paper Quality" from that menu, and it will give you a button for "Source." The arrow buttons on the right of the "Source" button allow you to choose "Photo Tray."
Once it's changed, you don't need to redo it each time you print an additional photo, since iPhoto reverts to "Last Used Settings." But as a shortcut for future sessions, you can save these settings using the "Preset" button located at the top of the second "Print" window (the window where the "iPhoto" button is located). I used "Photo Tray" in the description so it would be obvious, since I don't print pictures every day.

My HP Photosmart 3310 will not pick-up A4 glossy photo paper in the main tray. 6x4 works fine in the photo tray

Your printer might have opening area for clearing paper jams, also on that area there are some rounded parts that do actual picking-up of paper. Clean those parts with some non-agresive cleaning agent and try again.

My hp photosmart c6180 prints green photos on photo paper. it prints fine on regular paper. all my ink cartridges are hp and new. how can i fix this. i have tried several different types of photo paper as...

Check to make sure all of your contacts are clean. The part where the cartridge meets the printer. Also check to make sure you have it set in the printer properties for photo quality paper. If this still doesn't work, I would suggest trying a different brand of paper, it may be the problem with the paper manufacturer.

Photo paper jam what thickness of photo paper should i use for a hp photosmart 8250 i keep getting jammed up and think the paper is to thick

Be sure and check the printing properties before printing. make sure that you specify the kind and thickness of the paper. This way the printer expects that thickness when printing. Sometimes, glossy paper makes the printer jam easily. Try putting around 25 regular paper on bottom of special paper and see if that helps.

Out of paper message when there is paper

This video is for the C7280, but the instructions are supposed to be true for the 8250. Usually that message when you have paper means that the rollers in the printer are slick and not picking up paper. The video shows how to fix that.

Paper mismatch paper size to small choose a large size

There is a workaround for this problem by tricking the printer.
The paper sensor, on my printer model hp4500 seems to only sense the paper at the beggining of the print job.
What I did to trick the printer to print on odd size paper is slide the paper adjuster to 8.5 and put a regular white sheet in. Then put your odd size paper under it. When you print your document set the number of copies to 2 and print. The printer is going to sense that the paper is correct, and start the job.
Here is the tricky part... once the first 8.5x11 sheet is almost all the way through quickly slide the paper adjuster over to match the size of your odd width paper. The printer should pick up the odd paper and print the second copy. Fool you printa! You should be able to do batches of odd paper size under the first 8.5X11. I hope this helps.
