Question about Internet KM-2501P Enhanced PS/2 Multimedia Keyboard

1 Answer

Internet connection The internet connection goes off most of the day. It often goes on when I make a call, especially a long distance call.I have checked all the connections. I have 5 phone extentions, and I have checked them all. We have static on the line off and on. We have had it for a long time. I wonder if it has something to do with the internet problem. I have a repairman coming to check the lines. The static also interferes with clarity when we make long distance calls. All of these problems are intermittent. However the connection problem with the internet is extremely agravating. Shirley Ririe (801) 364-2076

Are u using a DSL connection? If so, this intermittent disconnection is caused when the DSL filter is not working or you have not connected the modem to the DSL filter at all. Make sure the filter is connected to the main line (main telephone line) and plug in the modem to the DSL port and the telephone to the other port as mentioned on the filter.

Magic Jack long distance service on internet

I have a Magic Jack and it is plugged into my computer. I don't have to do anything to call a long distance call. Do you have the new one that does not need to be plugged into you computer? You do not need to have any other application running to use magic jack. I know you said something about outlook express and yahoo, but you do not need to have that open. All you need (if you are attached to a computer) is your computer running, magicjack running on your desktop, and an internet connection. I hope this helps you.

Cant watch at higher rate. you tube keeps stopping

If you can't watch at a higher rate it means that your internet connection is not fast enough to buffer/load all the information contained in the video quickly enough to play it in a smooth fashion. Use 240p or 360p, this will reduce the amount of time taken to buffer/load the video.

Another approach would be to consider the purchase of a faster internet connection, or may be if you are using a wireless connection, connect your computer/laptop to your router via an ethernet cable when wanting to watch videos. Ethernet cable would be faster especially over long distances.

Take care!

Hey, I'm a student renting a room in a house of about 5 rented rooms and the landlord upstairs. We have wireless internet from a: Thomson Gateway Product Name: TG585 v7 Software Release:...

The problem has more to do with your Internet Service Provider than your router. The more users online within your neighborhood the less bandwidth or signal strength you'll receive. For instance around noon each day is one of the busy times for Internet use everywhere. It also, depends and what's occurring amongst the users within the house. Downloading, streaming music or videos is very taxing to bandwidth especially if five users are trying to stream video at the same time. Perhaps you may need to increase your service speed. So if you have 3M service you may wish to move up to 5M,10M or 15M service.

I log into facebook and keep getting a message internet not able to connect operation aborted but no problems connecting to anything else. been happening for days now

This is probably due to your internet connecting then disconnecting due to poor connection, which is especially possible if you are using the internet over a WiFi connection. This would not cause a problem on most websites because the internet is built to handle unsteady connections, but Facebook has built there own software to not connect if this happens.

The best solution would be, if you are using WiFi, to get closer to the router or to upgrade your router. If you are not, you should contact your internet provider.

Internet turns off

It's a problem with your unit making a connection to your router. You can do one of a few things:

Uninstall and reinstall your router. Keep all settings default (if you don't, write down everything you do) and keep it to only one encryption key at max.

Distance from PS3 to router can make a huge difference, especially if it's an older router. If you can try either moving the router or the PS3 closer to eachother.

If it is an old router, you may want to consider getting a new one. Some experts will tell you that Wireless G routers are the best for gaming, which is somewhat true but you need to be willing to spend a good amount of money for it. I bought a Belink Wireless N router and my connection is so fast they make me the host of just about every online game. It ran me $60. My router is maximum 15 feet from my PS3 and it goes through 2 walls.

Your type of internet connection could effect it as well. If you have cable it's going to be fast but inconsistant; causing dead moments in your connection. If you have DSL it will run a little slower but very consistant and will almost never cut out.

Words of wisdom: Never turn off your PS3 from the back when the system is powered on; Once a month use canned air to clean out the ventalation system in your PS3; Keep good distance around your vents to give it a healthy air flow; Never set it on carpet as this could pull up more dust and dirt than usual; and when inserting your PS3 disc's try never to touch the shiny part and always either put it back in the case, or what I do is use the lids to my blank CD's to store them in.

Good luck and please rate my solution accordingly.

My ex-next door neighbour has recently flitted 20 miles south. He can no longer connect to the Internet via his BT Voyager ADSL Router. I think he has lost an essential connection during the removal. In...

Your ex-next door neighbour needs to contact his Internet Service Provider to get a new ADSL connection linked to his new phone line. The original ADSL connection is tied to his old phone line/number and it will not work in his new location. Each ADSL connection is setup at the local telephone exchange and tied to that phone line/number..
If his Internet Service Provide does not operate nor can provide an ADSL service in his new area then he needs to find a new Internet Service Provider.

We just set up our wireless and moved all the childrens pc's to their rooms during the day we lose internet connection how can we fix this

Try to check if the internet connection works fine first on the main PC where the router is connected. If its working, its just a wireless distance problem. Try to change the wireless channel of the router by accessing the router's user interface or setup page.

Internet want start

Hi mtaylor9,

Routers are great but they do have issues with distance, or certain walls that can interupt the connections. My suggestion is to have your daughter when she is connected to walk away from the router step by step, and continue this until it drops. This will give you the distance it will work for you. Then either move the router closer to her destination, or you can get another router than can act as a passthrough. The last option is to run ethernet wire everywhere which really defeats the purpose of wireless.

Good Luck
