1 Answer

Ink system failure Oxc19a0031 I have an HP842C. The ink cartridges appear to be full, and in fact I have changed them for new ones, but I barely get a print, It is sometimes enough to make out (barely) other times it is just a blank piece of paper. Any suggestions? ( i can't afford to buy a new one)

Clean the cartridges.

Go to Printers/Faxes from your START Menu
Select the printer
Select Set Printer Properties
Select the Services Tab
Clean them - I had to do it 5 times and take out the black cartridge and shake it really good until ink started coming out and clean it again. I primed 3 times.

Worked for me.

I have error code 0xc05d1281 what does this mean?

This error means "Ink System Failure"
And it means that something went wrong in the ink manager internal printer software.
Try removing all the ink cartridges and then power off and on again the printer
If it asks for inserting the cartridges insert them one by one and see if the error appears, in that case the thing that provoke that error is that specific ink cartridge.
So change the specified ink cartridge.

If you didn't solve with this procedure maybe the printhead failed to do a specified operation, or anyway the printer have a specific error on the mainboard and need assistance

Let me know ;)

Error 0xc18a0101 persists. Have tried solution given earlier for 0xc18a0001 without success. Ink system failure not resetting; all cartridges are full.

Its tricky mechanism, once printer detects ink system failed it cannot be resetted. Do this take out cartridges from printer., open right cover., find out logic card., remove cmos battery., wait for 5 minutes., refix batyery., power on the printer., follow the screen messges ... I hope it will solve the issue..

My Printer prints a Colored Ink. But I type as a black Font Color. Then Black Ink Has full?? pls help me

Hi Carl Montero,
Your issue may be attributed to two possible points of failure. 1.) The Nozzle is clogged, 2.) the ink is already dry inside. You can try to clean the nozzle by doing the following steps. If it does not work, try to replace the cartridge with a new one.
FINE Cartridge Cleaning
1 Press [Menu] repeatedly until appears. 2 Use [ ] or [ ] to select . 3 Press [OK]. 1 Press [Maintenance] repeatedly until appears. 2 Press [Black] or [Color].
FINE Cartridge Deep Cleaning
1 Press [Menu] repeatedly until appears. 2 Use [ ] or [ ] to select . 3 Press [OK]. 1 Press [Maintenance] repeatedly until appears. 2 Press [Black] or [Color].
Note If deep FINE Cartridge cleaning does not improve the print quality, contact a Canon service representative.

I have the ink system failure error and error Oxct18a0206 I was going to try and fix it and it somewhere it said that it could be because the ink cartridges are low. How do you see what level they are at...

Hello,

Yes, The error is caused by air in the ink feed tubes which happens when the ink in the cartridges runs out or you use an improperly filled cartridge. We have a step by step repair guide posted on our web site at: http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/category/printer-repair/hp-printer-repair/
There is not any easy way to determine the level of ink in the cartridges but you will need to use full cartridges when you do the air purge procedure needed to clear the error.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

Ink system has failed error Oxc 19a 0031

Hello,
Are you experiencing the ink system failure on your printer? The error is caused by air getting in the ink tubes feeding the system. This is normally cause by refilled cartridges but can be caused by any cartridge that goes very low on ink and then tries to reload ink. This reset procedure does have to be performed with a full cartridge installed. The following reset procedure will correct the issue by purging the ink tubes and flushing any air trapped in them.

Please perform the following steps in order:
1. Press and hold the “*” key.
2. Press the “#” key and release both keys.
3. Display should say “Enter Special Key Combo”
4. Press and release in sequence the “1”, “2” and “3” buttons.
5. Screen should say "support" R0631M"
6. Press and release the right arrow button until the display says “System Configuration Menu”.
7. Press and release the “OK” button.
8. Display should say “Hardware failure status”. If not there already, Arrow Key over to “Hardware failure status”,
9. Press and release the “OK” button.
10. Display should say “Hardware failure status: Clear. Press OK to clear”.
11. Press and release the “OK” Button. Message changes to “Hardware failure status Cleared. Press Cancel to continue”.
12. Press and release the “CANCEL” button as many times as necessary, so that, either the “Welcome to Photosmart Express” screen appears, or, the “Ink System Failure” screen appears. PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO PRINT AT THIS STAGE.
13. Using the Power Button, turn the unit OFF and unplug the power cable from back of the printer and wall outlet.
14. Wait 30 seconds for the power to get discharged and then plug the power cable into the wall outlet first and then into the back of the printer
15. Turn the unit on. The printer may display message “USE POWER BUTTON TO SHUTDOWN THE PRINTER” followed by “PRESS OK TO CONTINUE”. Press OK. The Printer will start the “ONE TIME INK INITIALIZATION PROCESS”. Allow this process to complete and do not interrupt. Once the initialization process is complete, the printer will print out a Diagnostic Page.
16. Press Setup menu on the All-in-One then scroll using the arrow key and select Print Report then select Self Test Report.

You should be back up and running.

I hope this helps, If so pleae rate our solution

I have tried all the solutions for the Ink System Failure for the D7360. My error code is Oxc19a0002 which I haven't seen listed anywhere! I have tried changing cartridges, opening the right side,...

This is what I found for you.

If you get ink system failure you most likely have air in your ink system. This will happen after months of use -every ink cartridge you reload and purge will have a little bit of air trapped in it and over time it must add up. You have to do a system reset which causes your printer to start over and do a full purge of ink through your system. This is what happens when you do your first ink system set up when you open install new ink cartridges. To do a ink system reset you must first:

1. After your printer gives you a ink system failure you will need to press and hold down ok and cancel at the same time and then press the start button once. (make sure you hold the cancel and ok down until the system shuts down and then release).

2.Now (Again) hold the cancel and ok Button down and and press the on button again -making sure to keep holding down the cancel and ok until it shuts itself down again. It will seem like it is starting up again up will then just shut off. Now once it has shut off for the second time (It is VERY important that you have a new set of ink cartridges installed before turning on the system for the second time) This is because it will do a full ink purge and rid the trapped air in the system. If you have old ink in it or almost empty it will most likely not purge enough. A new set of ink works best- You can go back to your old ink after if you like and keep the "new" set for back up when the system fails again down the road (it will fail again -this is poor designing by HP).

3.Now once you have shut down the system and loaded a fresh set of ink (all 6 of the ink cartriges) you can now press the on button (at this time you should get a reset code the come on first and the printer will run its purging of the air and new ink.

4. You might have to do this more then once to rid all the air out of the system-keep trying and after 2 -3 times it will stop giving you the ink failure. I have fixed my printer many times by this fix for many years.

If you require any further information or clarification, I will gladly answer you, Please do not hesitate to ask me.
Please click the green ACCEPT icon if you feel I have given you a full and complete satisfactory answer,
If not, we can carry on trouble-shooting the problem, to find the Answer, and sometimes we have to isolate the problem first, And then resolve it for you however I am quite confident this will correct the problem.

Ink System Failure on a HP Photosmart C6280 All-in One

This is likely a cartridge problem except if the carriage is not moving at all. If you still have some of the used cartridges you can used them to trouble shoot by elimination ok. Or contact a nearby technician who has the cartriges to use them for trouble shooting. I strongly believe the one of the print carts is the culprit. Good luck
