I recently bought a new battery and followed the recommended procedure of fully charging and discharging it several times. It worked great for a month but now I sometimes have difficulty getting it to completely charge up. (Other times it'll charge all the way to 100%.)
When I open Power Meter from the taskbar, I can see that I'm on AC Power and the amount of the battery charge. I unplug the charger and Power Meter shows that I'm now on batteries. Then if I plug it in again, it says "Charging" and the total battery power remaining will go up one or two percent. Then the word charging will dissapear and the battery will remain at whatever % charge it's at.
Does this indicate a defective battery or something defective in my computer?
-   Same problem but with Presario 300. On our 3rd power chord. I'll try to charge it for 8 hrs and see what happens...........-   gidgetfsu

-   I have a new battery but I have to wiggle the charger plug on the computer to get the charge light on the computer to come on. I have tried another charger with the same results.I suspect a crack or bad connection on the inside where the plug is. Art-   Guest
There are two ways, the first one is to check on the electrical panel of the batteries terminals and check up the electronic chip sets whether the charging system is working fine.
Secondly, break off the batteries pack and check up each battery cell for the followings, current and amps.
please noted that, if at any time batteries were tested and later repacked, were such of the types that constitute most of the problems.
You have do one thing is that you unpluged the power cable and run from battery power untill its switch off auto ok i mean discharge the all power from batter and then recharge the power continue for 8 Hours ok. Try this.. I hope it ll work.
Thank you
Happy New Year
