How do I replace an oven door seal?

Piece of cake. Use pliers and pull on the small metal clips that hold the old seal on the door. Now simply press the clips on the new door seal into the same holes. The ends of the door seal should point to the floor when the door is closed.

I have a Kenmore Elite Double Oven Range Model 790.9750. It's just 2 years old. It has been burning food only in the middle of the left side of the upper oven. Nothing cooks correctly because that

Check your door seal by doing a paper-pull test. If the paper pulls out easily on one side and not the other, then you found your problem. You might be able to "tweak" the door, but be careful - if you twist the door too much, you could break the glass. The other (and safer) solution is to replace the door seal. Another thing that could cause uneaven heating would be an element that has a "hot spot", but this is rare. Finally, if the insulation of the oven cavity was done improperly at the factory, that could also cuase uneven heating, but this is even rarer than an element with a hot spot. In all my 9 years of servicing ranges, I only encounter this cause 1 time. Ussually it's a damaged or compressed door seal.

HGS7152UC bosch oven door won't seal

Oven doors are designed to have some movement in and out to accommodate sealing against the gasket. If you're not getting a good seal check the condition of the gasket. If it's hard and inflexible you'll need to replace it.

About 5-6 years of normal use can make these hard and inflexible.

I just looked and Bosch calls this the 'Door Seal' pn 1052639

We have a Lofra dual fuel cooker 5 years old which needs a new rubber door seal on the gas oven but cannot find anywhere to obtain this part. Can you help? Pip Bedford

Hi I also had difficulty in obtaining a Lofra oven door seal but after searching and searching the internet I obtained an email address and now the problem has been solved. I received my oven door seal from the Italian Lofra company direct this morning. I dealt with a lady named Donatella and I found her very helpful. She can be contacted on donatella.talpo@lofra.it just give her the make of your cooker and she will let you know if she has one mine cost around £14. Good luck Suzie :)

Hotpoint gas oven 5yrs old pre heats fine but then doesn't keep temp up.

You have either a faulty oven thermostat, or your oven door seal is faulty. You can check the oven door seal by doing the following (you will need a A4 piece of paper):

Open the door put the paper against the seal, close the door. Now pull the paper slowly out, if there is resistance then the seal is fine.

-------------------------------------------------
The oven thermostat test is as follows (you will need a stopwatch):

Turn your oven on to the lowest setting, when it goes to high flame start timing it the oven should cut down within 8 minutes, if this doesn't occur your stat is faulty.

I hope this helps

The oven door won't close properly, it just hangs slackly about 2 cm from the seal. it's a smeg wall oven.

the clips on these oven are canyilver type they can move out of position if opened abruptly .to refit correctly lift door upwards while pushing the bottom of the door inwards.you should feeel a strong resistance from the door springs.there should be a notch n the bottom of the hinge this should slot over the oven frame.if this does not solve the problem then the springs have probably gone on the hinges and will need to replace both hinge assemblies

put a tea towel on both sides of the door [folded] down by the hinges then close door. gently push the door close try a few times with a little pressure.
