New ETB is part number RM1-1885, costs about $120 USD, and you will likely have to replace it as they can't be repaired.

Error 59.9 after cleaning a HP 2600n

59 errors have something to do with the ETB(electronics transfer belt).
Try reseating the belt, see if that doesn't fix your problem.
When was the last time that the ETB was replaced?

How to install etb

Dear George

As with my experience the ETB lasts for a long time. But still if you want i will instruct you but right now i do not have pictures, but i will try to post it later for your reference.

Follow these steps

1. Remove top cover
2. Remove the left side cover and you can see the connection of ETB motor and sensor wires Usually Purple color with white connector on bottom.
3. remove the connection and carefully unlock the ETB from the holders.
4. replace the one you have in the same fashion as you removed.

Cant get the hinge installed so that the toners open and close as you open and close the door.... HELP!!

I got a feeling that the ETB isn't seated correctly.
The ETB is that big mylar belt that lowers with the front door.
Pull the ETB out and check that both black plastic sockets are in the down position.
Now reinsert the ETB making sure that it sits in those black sockets, one on either side.

Can't remove toner cartru]idges after replacing ETB

The ETB isn't seated correctly.
Remove it and make sure that the two black plastic connectors at the printer bottom are both in the down position before you slide the ETB in.
Close and open the front cover and you should be able to watch the toner cartridges open and close.

Swap out the ETB.
You never said what the defect is.
All three of the defects for the ETB will require you to replace it.

HP 2600n gray background darkness throughout paper

Ehh, after futher reading it seems, as long as the EBT is not physically damadged, it is fine. So it all points back to the fuser. Ebay for $75 genuine HP.

But for others, just to rule out anything simple, disconnect from computer, and reset to factory defaults. Print Demo page. If still looks ugly, nothing to loose, run the service menu cleaning option, basicly heats the fuser very hot and passes a paper very slowly to catch any excess toner. I have never seen this cleaning option help but you never know. And if your print still looks like ****, you can save your beloved slow printing laser jet, replace the fuser.

Awsome instructions...

Paper jam

The paper jams are in the fuser area. Which is very hot. The following is a link to change the fuser. It may be that you can get to the jam by removing the top cover.
