It is a 15 amps motor and will need 6 times (90) that amount of amps to start up. Plugging it into a 15 amps circuit may work but a 20 amps circuit is more apropiate. Kitchen circuits are 20 amp circuits.
You can try plugging the compressor directly into the wall and see if it refills with air without trippiing the circuit breaker. Using an extension cord should be done with a #12 or #10 wire gage type, smaller type will cause a power loss in the cord and will cause the compressor motor to trip the circuit breaker.
Power formula is I square R, or the amps multiplied by itself and by the resistance of the wire. E.G. 90x90x4 = 3200 watts. This is at start up. To find the voltage drop divide the watts by current, 3200/90 = .... get the point? Keep voltage drops to a minimum, use heavy wire gage extension cords.
either a shorted out relay which is connectrd to the side of the compressor or wirings inside the compressor have shorted out ,relay is easy to check its under a plastic box cover on the sideof the compressor, pull it off and have a look for any burn marks or smell even shake it to see if it sounds all broken up inside is only a small unit if good then its time for a new fridge
Check compressor is taking correct amps, if high amps due to capacitor weak, replace it. And also check for any short circuit in wiring. That is also the reason for breaker tripping. Finally, Remove power. Check compressor terminals after removing wiring, When your ohms read something between any terminal and grounding, it's understood that compressor grounded. Replace it. If windings reading should be : SR should read the total of CS and CR (C=COMMON, S=STARTING,R=RUNNING). If the total is higher or lower, the compressor winding is weak. That time it takes higher amps and breaker get tripped. Hope helpful?
Check fans in freezer and near compressor. Is compressor running continuously or clicking on and off? If fans are running and compressor is running continuously, your problem is most likely within sealed system. That would require a technician and may not be cost effective to repair.
Here's a link to a service manual, with step by step tests to determine whats wrong. I'm thinking compressor shot, but this should confirm, and or help you determine for yourself. Be careful with those capacitors eh !! Read warning in service manual.
Hi, The compressor is not always starting...sometimes it tries but does not start... It could be a capacitor and relay problem... or the compressor could be going bad... Change the capacitor and start relay first and then see if that gets it going... Here is a tip about trouble shooting your air conditioner...
The ONLY reason that a Breaker "Blows" is due to a severe overload, or short circuit or short between Phase & Earth. Or a Contactor failure. Usually this fault is caused by a faulty Motor Winding. Also Check the STAR/RUN Capacitor. Or the Contactor. Also a mechanical problem may "Jam" up the "Drive-train" and cause the Motor to , Stall, & in turn draw huge amounts of Current trying to keep on going. Use a meter on OHMS and work through checking continuity, up to the Motor, and between the Motor and Neutral. You should "See" the resistance of the Motor, ONLY when the switch is ON. from the Plug end. BE CAREFUL.
hello sir/mam
after replacing the tempreture probe have u checked the compressor so that it should get the signals for cutt in and cutt off if not please check it.if this is not happening please change the temperature sensor.
