Question about Texas Instruments TI-83 Plus Calculator
I have had my calculator since the 8th grade, it is now close to 7 years old but i took very very good care of it and it looks basically brand new. I never dropped it or got it wet or let the batteries erode in it etc. This summer it worked fine for one of my statistics classes. Suddenly, right before an exam, it stopped working. I mean like BAM won't turn on. I changed the triple AAA batteries, still dead. So I assumed it was the smaller battery, I changed it with a brand new one, still didnt turn on, bought another new small battery, still didnt work.
The batteries are fine, i checked them on my roommates TI-83 plus, yet for some reason mine just won't turn on at all.
I love this calculator and I have no money for a new one, is there anyway I can fix this? Is there some sort of shop I can take it to or something I should do to it?
Please someone help me, I'd be eternally great full, as would my long time silver calculating buddy here, who seems to be in a coma.
Many TI calculators have an annoying habit of dimming the screen when the batteries are changed so that it appears as if the calculator isn't turning on at all. Turn the calculator on (or at least press the ON key). Press and release the 2ND key. Press and hold the Up-arrow key for a few seconds and see whether the screen becomes legible.
