Question about Dell E193FP 19" Flat Panel LCD Monitor

Dell E193FP Problem

I've been using this monitor for about two years now and a few days ago when trying to turn it on the screen would not turn on. No flicker, no ghost image, just after pressing the power once the button would go green, then go to the yellow sleep color after a few seconds. It repeats blinking from green to yellow for a few hours before turning itself on.

I have switched the power cable and monitor cable around to no avail. Have also tried two different computers. It takes at least three hours for it to get itself an image but then it will remain fine until powered down again.

Dell e193fp goes blank at times

From the description there are bad solder connections on the power supply board and since the monitor is 7 years old there is a good chance some of the capacitors need to be changed.

My Dell E193FP boots up with the computer and then

Seems to be a very common problem with this screen. Im taking one apart as we speak to try to discover the problem. In the mean time - check that the Power Input isnt loose, and you can wiggle it around. Usually means the power is arcing onto the board

The screen went black after few seconds.

Hello Chris,

You have a monitor with a common problem. After a few years some LCD monitors will blow a power supply. The problem is caused by parts called capacitors overheating in the confined space of he monitor. If you are good at electronics repair/soldering you can usually fix he problem. Check out a few pictures on my web site www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm You can take the back cover off your monitor and look for the bad parts, replace any that look like the pictues and your monitor should work fine. The capacitors do need to be installed with the correct + and - connections, note the strip on the old one and insert the new one the same way. If you don't want to try the repair yourself we offer a repair service for $35 plus shipping. I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.

There are no drivers for difrent monitors.

But if you provide your pcs brand, name, model.
I might be able to find a videocard driver witch might fix your problem.

Oh and what videomode are you trying to use?

Bank Monitor problems

Unplug the cable from your PC, if the monitor shows a test image, the monitor is fine and the problem is with your graphic card. If you dont see nothing on-screen after unpluging the cable from the PC, then the monitor in damaged. Send it to repair.
