I have a dualxdvd700 unit for a year and recently I have had a problem playing cds and dvds. The cds will cut out during songs and the dvds will do the same or not work at all. I have cleaned it a few times and still have a problem. Thanks in advance

Hello To replace the optic lens, you have to open the device and take out its CD mechanism out. It is a very skilled job. You must hage all the tools to open the device and enough knoledge in electroncis to do this work. If you have experience in disassembling and reassembling this type of unit, you can do it by yourself. You cannot replace the optic lens only. It is unit, whic contains optic lens. The unit as a whole is known as Laser Pickup Unit. OK.
I had the same problem - its because when you burn the disc, you don't use up all the recording time; and the read light on the player is so sensative that if there is any unused time, it will not accept the disc. So, make sure your recording time exceeds the disc space, and make sure the last song you burn is not your favorite because it will cut off midway through the song.
I have found that copied dvd's don't always work properly and even the slightest blemish or scratch renders it inop also it is illegal to sell a copied disc as it infringes copyright, I understand that the genuine disc's are expensive but you get what you pay for.
I'm having the same problem with my unit but it didn't happen right away and I bought this off of a friend. It slowly happened over time where it would get worse. I took it apart and there was a plastic piece out of place so now it will play dvds but still says bad disc to my cds even though I cleaned the lens on it. Any type of solution would be great.
Try resetting the unit by pressing the small, recessed button on the faceplate with the tip of a pen. If this doesn't work, the player may be defective. There is no wiring error (including failure to hook up the parking brake input) that will prevent the unit from playing CDs.
I have the same problem! tuner works just fine. I cant access the dvd mode. i can only access tuner, video input, and rear cam. Ive tried different cds and dvds and it did not help. Also it seems like the ejection mechenism is running continuesly.
