If your philips tv keeps losing it's stations when you switch it off, this my be a solution -----my 42" tv would need to be retuned every time I wanted to watch it this fault just started over night it was all working fine then sat down to watch tv and had to retune tv from scratch I could then watch telly all night fine change channels no probs all great switch it off next day retune and so it went on if you have this problem switch telly on then hold in menu button on tv until screen goes black (this reboots software) then retune tv as normal it will ask if you want a full retune (yes) when this is complete digital and analogue your tv should now remember channels when switched off and work as it used to ----( Hope this helps you if you have had this problem it worked for me ). This worked for me.....(from the Top Up TV website)
Press the menu button
Scroll down to Option 4 and press OK
Scroll down to Option 6 and press OK
In the help menu press 1397 on the remote control quickly and in sequence
Scroll down to the 'Purge VOD Schedule' option (next page) and press OK
Remember the DTR must be either on or left in standby at all times to receive the EPG and programme downloads. • The guide will update at the next scheduled slot (between 11am and 12pm daily).
Updates are also quicker if you change from 14 day EPG to the 8 day version...
Guide > Set-Up (4) > Change box settings (2) > TV guide type (9) > back arrow > Continue (green button)
This sounds as if analog tranmisions have now been switch off at your location. Does your set have a digitall tuner fitted if so select dvt from remote go to install menu and do a full scan > If your set does not have a digatil tuner fitted the you will have to connect a digatil box to your tv. Had same problem. Remedy is to put digibox back to factory reset. Dis-connect from mains. Keep pressing + button on front panel as you re-connect to mains. Red LED will be on, when orange LED blinks release + button. briefly press + button. You have solid red LED and blinking red LED. Enter code 9 9 0 0, by remote blinking LED will show green. Wait a few minutes and the instalation page will appear on screen. Go to update and start as you did before and C5 should be installed. Hope that helps. Dave
