Hp 6500 officejet - started cutting headers off on pages and printing crooked (paper not crooked - just printing) - any ideas?

I hate this printer!!! Besides having to continuously reload the software now I am having problems where: 1) cut the headers off on print jobs 2) prints the copy crookedly 3) sometimes only prints one or two words of copy on page in middle Ran the diagnostic and alignment, re-booted all to no avail - tried to do a complete diagnostic which, never printed out... Help!!!

SOURCE: Printing on paper is crooked

I would recommend a good cleaning of the rollers with a damp rag (old t-shirts are great for this). Some canned air to blow out the insides always seems to improve operation.
If this is helpful to you, would you please rate this solution? Thanks!

SOURCE: alignment page is printing crooked

Normal 0 I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the print button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it will feed through the printer. The reason for this is in some cases I have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there over time.
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this way, saving costly repairs.
Hope this helps. Bud

SOURCE: HP Business Inkjet 1200 printer always prints the Alignment Page

Normal 0 Could have a corrupt driver.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and when the CD software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

My paper feeding is crooked

check the paper tray, make sure the paper guides are snug up to the edges of the paper. Even a small gap will cause miss alignment of the printing.

My HP 6500 Printer jammed and now everything it prints has a line running down the side. Each segment is about 1/2 inch long and runs down the whole page.

This type of line is cause by a scratch or smudge on the toner cartridge's image drum. You will need to replace the toner cartridge.

My HP Officejet 6500 wireless E709N makes a loud squeaking noise every time something is printed and is printing additional lines on the sheets of paper being printed?? Help!

Horizontal streaks across the page usually mean your cartridge is about to run out, or is at least dirty. Try cleaning the nozzles, though avoid doing this manually -- your printer should have a cleaning cycle.
The squeaking noise could be dust in your rollers. That can't really be fixed without major intervention that could throw something out of balance and result in many a paper jam. You can use a lint-free, static-free cloth to gently clean inside an unplugged printer, but it's generally not a great idea to mess around in there too much.

My HP Officejet 6500 Wireless just started printing a blank page and bringing up the error message "Paper Mismatch' - been using this for over a year with no probloems

1. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer. 2. Press and hold the # key and the number 6 and plug the printer back in all at the same time. 3. Release the keys once the printer is already turned on.
If the printer takes the paper but only crumples it. Do the Reset for the 2nd time.

How do you print on both sides of the paper on an Officejet 6500? Also, I tried to scan a picture, but it would not scan. I run the printer as wireless to a lap top? Why would it not scan Thanks G

Unless you have a printer capable of "duplexing", you won't be able to print on both sides of the paper automatically. The only other way to do this is toi print on ONE side, then place the printed page back on the paper tray and print the SECOND page on the other side. You may need to try a few times until you get it the way you want, but it is diable this way.

Hi,

Change the paper type and paper size and that should resolve the issue.
