Well, it would be easier (and cheaper) to download the drivers from Acer's website.
Go to:
http://www.acerpanam.com/flex/acer/bin/acer.html#app=2766&1adb-selectedIndex=0&e590-selectedIndex=1&9875-selectedIndex=1&796e-selectedIndex=1&ae20-selectedIndex=1
and select your exact model. You will find all the drivers there.
As for windows, what version is it upgradable from and to what?
SOURCE: i have 1recovery **** named aspire 5610 dvd2 should i have a dvd1 disk also
go to http://www.sysresccd.org/Download
download the iso and burn it to a cd.
boot your computer with it
read the explanations coming up on the screen and when you see that you can choose how to start, type "wizard"
choose the top choice (auto)
when it starts right click on the desktop and start GPARTED.
one of the discs will be marked as "boot"
right click the disc called "recovery" (or the one that is not marked as boot).
choose manage flags
set it to Boot.
press apply on top (not always needed tho)
in the left picture (the one that opened from the start)
type reboot
remove the cd when you see the acer logo again.
the acer recovery manger should start.
SOURCE: acer 5610 memory capacity?
go to crucial.com and they have an online scanner that you can use, ( or you can do the manual search , it isvery easy, and not am not associated with them) which tells you exactly how much you have and how much you can have. unfortunately you can NOT go 2x2 GB , the system would not accept it.
